Saga Pearl II blog - Captains' blogs

The weather is certainly living up to expectations as it was a beautiful day with no wind here in Ibiza. One of the great points of Ibiza is that with our downtown berth our guests were a stone’s throw away from the hub of activity in the town and marina, and what a great way to relax and enjoy your cruise!! We embarked our pilot promptly this morning at 7am and after a steep turn to port by the breakwater we docked the vessel and got that ‘gangplank’ down to get all the Saganauts ashore. Also last night we hosted our Newcomers Cocktail party, and it is always a pleasure to welcome our new Saganauts to the Saga Family!!
Today it was time for the Captain to go ashore. I don’t go very often as always busy with running the ship, but today was a must as I particularly like Ibiza. First I wandered around the marina and the local shops. I had a peep in the Rolex store at my dream watch, and realised I need to save a little more! Coffee time found me in the local square in a lovely sun trap, topping up my tan. Then it was time to wander back and it was a pleasure to see a lot of guests ashore in the Marina, quite a lot having an ice cream – Mmmm is our ice cream onboard not good enough – being the resident ice cream expert I would say our ice cream is the best!!!
A nice evening sailing time at 7pm, so with all our guests onboard we departed our berth and set sail for another beautiful port, Mahon in Minorca.
Fantastic day – great weather – and the forecasts look good all the way to Gibraltar on the 2nd July – fingers crossed !!!
See ya later in Mahon.
