Today we have had a relaxing day at sea. The weather in the North Sea has been prefect with calm seas and a light breeze.
We had our Singles Gathering today, which gives all our Solo Travellers a chance to meet and get to know each other, then when we arrive in port many of our Solo Travellers head ashore together to experience the delights of the ports we visit.
For myself, today has been a catch up day of paperwork and emails. My day can vary between sitting at my desk completing the ships stability, crew paperwork and answering emails. If I’m not at my desk then I will be walking around visiting the other departments and doing my daily walk around the ship. This is when I check on the external condition of Saga Pearl II and look at what work needs to be done over the coming weeks.
For today’s little bit of useful, or useless information, whichever way you look at it! I thought I would tell you about how much wine is served. On an average cruise we can serve around 200 bottles of wine a day for lunch and dinner. We currently have around 18,000 bottles on board in our ‘Cellar’ aka a Fridge. Last cruise a total of 3290 bottles were consumed on our 17 night cruise to the Mediterranean.
Tonight we have our ‘Welcome On board’ cocktail party and formal dinner, so it is time for me to head off and put my formal uniform on and polish my shoes.
