Our 2021 winter cruise highlights

25th August, 2020

2020 has brought with it a whole host of challenges - some of which are unique within our lifetimes. These challenges have meant that many of us have had our plans cancelled, from holidays and bucket-list experiences to celebrations.

With this in mind, we’re looking ahead to 2021, and scoping out how we can pack our itineraries with as many incredible experiences, beautiful sights and cultural must-dos as possible - giving you lots of choice when it comes to making plans to look forward to.

If you’re feeling the travel itch and can’t wait to get back out exploring the world, we’ve got a host of cruises departing early on in 2021, meaning you could be exploring the Canaries or taking in some Caribbean vibes sooner than you might think. Find out more about some of our early 2021 cruises here.

The Mediterranean

Enjoy a scrumptious Paella

In the UK we’re lucky to be surrounded by a host of beautiful countries, which means that when you’re feeling the lack of a holiday, or feeling like you’re in need of some TLC, you don’t have to travel far to get it.

The Mediterranean Sea acts as a central connection for some of Europe’s most beautiful countries, including firm favourites like Spain, France, Italy and the Balearics. Not only do these destinations offer incredible things to see and do, but they also boast some of the world’s best food and drink - making them the perfect place to head if you’re looking to treat yourself. Our Taste of the Mediterranean cruise is a true cultural experience, allowing you to enjoy the best of the Western Med. From Cava tasting in vibrant Barcelona to paella making in Malaga, it’s the perfect way for your mind and your palate to explore.

The Northern Lights

The incredible Northern Lights

A true bucket list favourite, the Northern Lights are a magical spectacle that has to be seen to be truly appreciated. Notoriously elusive, the aurora borealis is predominantly seen in high-latitude regions, with the likelihood increasing during different seasons, clear weather, and dark nights.

If you’re yet to witness the Northern Lights in person, then 2021 marks the perfect time to tick this one off of your list. Our In Search of the Northern Lights cruise, departing in February, covers 16 nights and takes you to all of the Arctic Circle’s highlights, including the beautiful landscapes of Northern Norway, peppered with fjords, mountains and picturesque villages. Definitely not a trip where you want to forget your camera.

The Canaries

Stargazing in Tenerife

If you’ve missed out on your fix of sunshine this year then don’t fret - you don’t have to wait until summer next year to top up your tan on a beach or next to the hotel pool. The Canaries are an endlessly popular choice for winter sun lovers, offering the perfect escape from cold, grey Blighty.

Take in the magic of the night’s sky on our Constellations of the Canaries cruise, which departs just into the New Year. The world’s largest solar observatory, Teide Observatory in Tenerife, is definitely a highlight of the trip. To take in all of the natural wonders of the Canaries, our The Beautiful Canaries cruise will allow you to explore five of the islands, with off-the-beaten-track excursions and plenty of time to immerse yourself in all that there is to see, do, taste, and enjoy.

The Caribbean

Breathtaking Barbados

Not sure that the Canaries will offer quite enough sunshine to banish those winter blues? Then the Caribbean should be at the top of your list when it comes to planning your escape in 2021. Thanks to its tropical climate, beautiful beaches, tons of history and tantalising food and drink, it’s the perfect place to escape from the stresses of 2020 and start afresh.

To see all that the Caribbean has to offer, check out our Caribbean Calypso cruise. From magical Antigua, remote Tortola, and breathtaking St Kitts to the ever-popular Barbados, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to see the best of the best on each and every island. Plus, with stop offs in the Azores en route, your adventure is sure to be one for the memory books.

Start 2021 on a high note

One thing’s for sure coming out of 2020 - we all deserve something to look forward to. Whether you’re a sun seeker, looking to witness a natural wonder, or want to treat yourself to a truly classic cruise experience, our early 2021 cruise itineraries have got you covered.
