Cross Canada from Montreal to Vancouver

Explore some of Canada’s cities and impressive countryside on this exciting tour, starting from elegant and historic Montreal. From here you’ll head west as you travel to Ottawa and then Toronto, taking in sights including of course the magnificent Niagara Falls, and the archipelago of ‘1000 Islands’. Next, fly to Calgary where your trip continues as you visit the mountain resort of Banff, before heading for Jasper, Kamloops and Vancouver.

Day 1 UK-Montreal

Montreal, Canada

Fly to Montreal for a two night stay at the locally rated 4-star Marriott Chateau Champlain, set in the heart of downtown Montreal. Facilities include a restaurant, bar, coffee shop, indoor pool, fitness centre (complimentary use of weights) and spa centre (treatments extra charge). Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout. All 611 air-conditioned rooms have a satellite television, telephone, tea and coffee-making facilities, a safe, minibar and hairdryer.

Day 2 Montreal

Montreal, Canada

Enjoy today at leisure in Montreal to explore independently, or perhaps join an optional excursion to the city of Quebec where you can discover the 17th and 18th century buildings in historic Place Royale, visit the Petit Champlain Quarter, see the Citadel and famous Chateau Frontenac Hotel. B

Day 3 Montreal-Ottawa

Notre-Dame Basilica, Montreal

See the highlights of Montreal on a city tour this morning, taking in the exterior of Notre Dame basilica and Old Montreal – a beautifully preserved district and home to the Place Jacques Cartier. Afterwards, travel to the capital of Ottawa where you’ll spend the next two nights at the locally rated 4-star Delta Ottawa City Centre Hotel. The hotel has a restaurant, bar, fitness centre, swimming pool and sauna. Each of the en suite guest rooms has a television, telephone, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, coffee-making facilities, and Wi-Fi. B

Day 4 Ottawa

Ottawa’s Library of Parliament

Enjoy a tour of Ottawa city this morning, taking in some of the highlights including the parliamentary building and peace tower. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to explore independently. B

Day 5 Ottawa-Toronto

Thousand Islands, Ontario

Leave Ottawa behind as you travel to Toronto, stopping en route along the shores of Lake Ontario for an included cruise to see the Thousand Islands of the St Lawrence River, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The islands vary from very tiny to substantial, and your scenic cruise provides an ideal opportunity to sit back and explore. Afterwards, head to Toronto where you’ll spend the next two nights at the locally rated 4-star Chelsea Hotel. This 1590-room hotel in the heart of the city has a choice of restaurants, in-hotel pub, health club and swimming pool. Day 6 Toronto

Horseshoe Fall, Niagara Falls

Head out of Toronto for the mighty Niagara Falls – one of Canada’s most famous attractions, where over two million litres of water per second thunders over the 167-foot drop! Explore independently, or perhaps treat yourself to a choice of optional excursions, which may include a cruise to the foot of the falls, a helicopter ride, or a trip on the Whirlpool Aerocar – a vintage cable car ride over the water. B

Day 7 Toronto-Calgary

Your morning starts with an included city tour, taking in the harbour front with its shops, cafes and galleries, and landmarks such as the CN Tower and Yorkville. Afterwards, head for the airport and your flight to Calgary, where you will stay overnight at the locally rated 4-star Residence Inn Downtown. Facilities at the hotel include a restaurant, lounge bar, and fitness centre. Each of the air-conditioned bedrooms has a telephone, television, and hairdryer. B

Day 8 Calgary-Banff

Head west from Calgary as you travel to Banff – the highest town in Canada. Look forward to enjoying a tour of this mountain resort set within the Banff National Park, with its beautiful scenery and overlooked by Sulphur Mountain. Stay two nights at the locally rated 4-star Banff Park Lodge B

Day 9 Banff

Stunning Banff National Park

Relax at this mountain resort situated within Banff National Park, part of the Canadian Rocky Mountain UNESCO World Heritage site. Perhaps treat yourself to a trip up Sulphur Mountain on the gondola, or explore the town. B

Day 10 Banff to Jasper

Banff’s Lake Louise

Head to Jasper, pausing at Lake Louise where you can take in the spectacular mountain views before continuing past the splendid scenery of the Icefields Parkway. There’ll be an unforgettable Ice Explorer ride to the Athabasca Glacier before you arrive at the locally rated 3-star Chateau Jasper, your base for the next two nights. The Chateau Jasper is situated around a 10-minute walk from the town centre. Facilities include an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, a gym, and a combined grill restaurant and lounge bar. Day 11 Jasper

Relax today or perhaps do some independent exploring. This small mountain town lies in the Athabasca Valley with mountain views, dominated by Mount Edith Cavell. There’s an information centre and of course the national park itself. B

Day 12 Jasper to Kamloops

Look out for bears on a river safari

Travel by coach to Kamloops pausing en route for a safari on the Blue River. Cruise on waters fed by glaciers as you watch for wildlife including bears, amidst stunning mountain scenery. Afterwards, continue to Kamloops where you stay overnight at the locally rated 3-star DoubleTree Hilton Hotel Kamloops. This charming hotel is located in the central downtown area and features an on-site fusion restaurant, outdoor seasonal pool with hot tub, plus complimentary 24-hour fitness centre. All guest rooms have a flat-screen television, fridge, safe and complimentary Wi-Fi. B

Day 13 Kamloops to Vancouver

Continue to Vancouver, a bustling coastal city whose skyscrapers are dwarfed by its mountainous backdrop. Look forward to enjoying a sightseeing tour on arrival taking in the city’s main sights and attractions. Stay two nights at the Listel Hotel, situated approximately 10 minutes walk from popular Stanley Park. The hotel has two restaurants, a bar, and fitness centre. Day 14 Vancouver

Cosmopolitan Vancouver

Enjoy today at leisure in Vancouver. Perhaps visit one of its many museums and art galleries, try out some of its cosmopolitan dining options, head for Granville Island market or stroll through the cobbled old town district of Gastown with its historic buildings and independent shops. Alternatively, select from a choice of optional excursions which may include whale watching, a day trip to Victoria, a sea plane tour and more. B

Day 15 Vancouver to the UK

Travel to the airport for your overnight flight to the UK. B
