Local Area

The resort of S’Algar stands on a rocky headland known for its coves, capes and islets. It’s a pretty, peaceful place with a scattering of bars and restaurants, all easily reached from the hotel along the long, level promenade. Walkers love heading off on the Cami de Cavalls walking trail - a famous bridlepath that encircles the whole island which is easily reached from the hotel.

We are delighted to welcome back the Hotel Alua Illa de Menorca, previously known as the Hotel San Luis. S'Algar has long been a favourite of Saga guests with its extensive leisure options including tennis courts, bowling greens and great walking on the nearby Cami de Cavalls, the bridle path that encircles the island. The new owners, AM Resorts, have refurbished and further improved the hotel interiors.

Ciutadella, Minorca’s ecclesial capital is set around a narrow inlet on the western side of the island. On an hour-long walking tour, you can stroll around the narrow streets of Ciutadella’s historic quarter, which fan out from Cathedral Santa Maria, Minorca’s greatest Gothic church.
