Denham Grove lies in a peaceful location in 42 acres of parkland, less than two miles from the Buckinghamshire village of Denham, and close to the main road networks. Situated just outside north-west London it is ideally placed to explore the nearby gardens. Alexander Korda's Film Studios were based in the village of Denham between 1936-52, but were merged with Pinewood four miles away, and were subsequently demolished. Films such as Brief Encounter and Great Expectations were filmed in the studios here, and the village of Denham was used as a location for some of the scenes in Brief Encounter. It's lure as scenic location has more recently been utilised in episodes of Midsommer Murders. Nearby attractions include Bekonscot model village, a charmingly nostalgic creation, complete with working train, that was first opened in 1929. The mighty Windsor Castle – the oldest inhabited castle in the world – is under nine miles away.
Once you've settled in, enjoy a welcome drink reception and the chance to get to meet your fellow guests and band leader John Beckingham who will act as your expert host, introducing you to the fascinating world of jazz and the musical instruments that play such an essential part in this iconic music.
