As the two most easterly islands of the archipelago, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura act as a bridge between Europe and Africa. Their stark, volcanic landscapes create a dramatic backdrop to the sandy beaches and also provide a unique habitat for a starling variety of plantlife.

Day 1 UK-Lanzarote

Fly to Lanzarote and travel to beautiful Playa Blanca for a seven-night stay at the T.H.E Hotel Mirador Papagayo (4Q).

Day 2 - 7 Playa Blanca

Today you'll fully appreciate what spectacular views this seafront hotel has. Set in the bay of Playa de las Coloradas, it overlooks the sea towards Fuerteventura. There's a pebble beach 50 metres from the hotel, and Papagayo's sandy beaches – considered the best beach on the island – are just two kilometres away. At the Marina Rubicon, also two kilometres from the hotel, you'll find restaurants, boutiques and bars and a twice-weekly market.

Should you wish to explore further afield, the hotel's courtesy shuttle bus runs to Playa Dorada four times a day, or you can join one of many excursions – volcano trekking, Timanfaya National Park, a catamaran cruise and a visit to artist Cesar Manrique's former home to name but a few. You'll also find lots going on at the hotel, such as a local interest talk, quiz night and live entertainment six nights a week.

Day 8 Lanzarote to Fuerteventura

It's just a 15-minute ferry ride from Playa Blanca to the port of Corralejo. You then continue midway down the east coast to Caleta de Fuste, your base for the next six nights, where you will stay at the Hotel Elba Carlota (4Q).

Day 9 - 13 Caleta de Fuste

Enjoy a slower pace of life at this high-quality hotel located just a few feet from a golden, sandy beach. During your stay you can stroll along the promenade to the attractive resort of Caleta de Fuste, which enjoys a beautiful setting around a shallow bay, perhaps do a spot of shopping at the centre next door, or hop on the regular courtesy bus which operates around the surrounding resort. From outside the shopping centre there is also a public bus service to Puerto del Rosario and Corralejo. If you wish, you can join some of the enticing optional excursions, from the Oasis Park zoo and botanical gardens, to a dolphin watching cruise or tours to the north and south of the island. Back at the hotel, look forward to Spanish lessons, nightly entertainment and live music twice a week.

Day 14 Fuerteventura-UK

Travel to the airport for your return flight to the UK.

Please note

For holidays departing in March 2020 this holiday operates in reverse, where you fly from the UK to Fuerteventura and back from Lanzarote. Hotels and excursions remain the same.
