John Sergeant is a seasoned political journalist and broadcaster, who has gained popularity as a regular contributor to the BBC’s One Show, and more recently as a presenter on ITV’s Barging Round Britain among others.
John will give a series of talks during The Magnificent Rhine Main and Moselle, departing July 1, 2021.
Alastair Stewart OBE presents a range of news and current affairs programmes on the ITV network, as well as moderating debates on important topics, including Brexit and knife crime.
Alastair will give a series of talks during From Amsterdam to the Alps departing August 26, 2021.
Oz Clarke is one of the word’s leading wine experts, whose formidable reputation is based on his extensive wine knowledge. His passion for the subject dates from his student days at Oxford University, where he won tasting competitions at a precariously early age. Since then his tasting skills have won him an international reputation and he is acknowledged as having one of the finest palates of anyone writing about wine today.
Oz will be joining Wine Festivals of the Rhine and Moselle departing September 21, 2021.
Jonathan Agnew MBE is a former Leicestershire and England cricketer, who is otherwise known for being the BBC’s voice of cricket. He will no doubt preview the Ashes series Down Under, which starts shortly after joining the cruise.
Johnnie Walker MBE first gained notoriety in the 1960s as a DJ on the pirate ship Radio Caroline. He now presents a series of shows on BBC Radio 2, including Sounds of the 70s.
Johnnie will give a talk alongside live performances by the resident band during Sounds of the 60s and 70s on the Rhine, departing October 7, 2021.
Nick Nairn is a renowned Michelin-starred chef and restauranteur, famous for his TV appearances on shows such as Ready Steady Cook and the Great British Menu. Nick will showcase his culinary talent to guests at the à la carte restaurant aboard the Spirit of the Rhine.
Nick will be joining Castles and Vineyards of the Rhine, departing October 25, 2021.
Charlie Dimmock is instantly recognisable as the face of well-known television gardening shows including Ground Force and, most recently, Garden Rescue. She has also covered RHS Chelsea Flower Show for the BBC. Her famous enthusiasm and expertise always make her a popular guest.
Charlie will be joining Flowers on Parade, departing April 13, 2022.
Anne Swithinbank & Pippa Greenwood
If you’re a fan of Radio 4’s Gardeners’ Question Time, these two ladies will be very familiar to you! With their considerable plant and horticultural expertise and their long broadcasting careers, they will bring a fascinating and entertaining aspect to any river cruise.
Bill Turnbull is an instantly recognisable face from British broadcasting, having appeared in some of the UK’s best loved shows including BBC Breakfast Time, Strictly Come Dancing and The One Show. With his engaging manner, sense of humour and compelling stories, Bill is always a very popular guest.
Graham Mitchell is a wine expert, broadcaster, writer and after-dinner speaker.
Graham will be joining Wine Towns of the Rhine and Moselle, departing July 5, 2022.
Tom Hart Dyke
Tom Hart Dyke first shot to international prominence in March 2000 when he and his travelling companion Paul Winder were on a plant hunting expedition in the Cambodian jungle. They were captured by warring guerrilla factions while trekking through ‘The Darien Gap’, and he was held captive for nine months. Since his release, he has been busy building the ‘World Garden’ at his home in Lullingstone Castle, Kent.
Tom will be joining Flowers of Floriade and the Zundart Dahlia flower parade, departing August 26, 2022.
Writer, broadcaster and entertainer Pam Ayres is one of the few authors who have had books in the Sunday Times bestseller lists in almost every decade since the 1970s. Her well-known humour, wit and warmth mean she is always entertaining and popular with guests.
Pam will be joining The Magnificent Rhine, Main and Moselle, departing October 3, 2022.
Wine expert Joanna Simon has over 20 years experience as a wine critic for The Sunday Times and is the founding editor of Waitrose & Partners Drinks magazine. Joanna has also presented the BBC Radio 4 series The Bottle Uncorked and writes for The World of Fine Wine magazine.
