Set off on an introductory tour of Malta where you can admire the different landscapes and see some of the island’s villages by coach, as well as enjoying a number of photo stops along the way. Leaving Valletta by coach you'll travel towards the Blue Grotto on route to Ghar Lapsi, a seaside spot known for its clear waters and rugged coastline.

Your tour continues to the Dingli Cliffs where you can enjoy a short stop and capture the view over the Mediterranean Sea. Back on the coach, head north through rural and agricultural landscapes, passing Malta’s Old Capital, Mdina and the town of Mgarr. Continue north towards St Paul’s Bay, where you have another short photo stop. Then, start to make the return journey to Valletta, with a comfort stop on route, before arriving at your ship.

Uncover the sights of the fishing village of Marsaxlokk at your own pace on this excursion of independent exploration. After a 30-minute drive from Valletta to Marsaxlook you will be dropped off in Marsaxlokk, where you will have 90 minutes to explore at your leisure. During your free time you may like to browse the open market, take a stroll along the picturesque bay where colourful fishing boats bob in the water or just relax and with a coffee in one of the cafes. After your free time here, return to your coach for the drive back to Valletta.

This is an excursion of independent exploration, where walking during the 90 minutes of free time in Marsaxlokk is at your discretion. The coach will drop off approximately 150 yards from the nearest amenities. To make the most of your visit to Marsaxlokk we recommend walking along the seafront – the distance along the seafront is approximately 750 yards. It is your responsibility to be at the drop-off point for the return drive at the given time. A guide will join you on the coach, but this tour does not include a guided tour. Maps of Marsaxlokk will be provided. We advise you to bring some euros should you wish to make a purchase.

Depart the pier and begin a panoramic drive around Split and the surrounding villages. The drive first takes you towards Solin, an ancient town rich in history, before continuing to Dugopolje, a picturesque village nestled in the Dalmatian hinterland.

Next, your tour vehicle will join the motorway briefly before taking the exit near Trogir. As you begin the return journey to Split, see in Trogir’s historic architecture and the nearby islands in the distance. The drive continues, passing through the charming village of Kaštela, known for its coastal beauty and medieval fortresses on the way back to the ship.

Explore the UNESCO-listed town of Trogir, a gem on the Adriatic Sea known for its wealth of Romanesque, Renaissance and Baroque architecture. Founded in the 3rd century BC as a Greek trading colony, Trogir is situated on a small island nestled between the mainland and the larger island of Ciovo. Cross over the bridge linking Trogir to the mainland to begin your adventure. Set behind its medieval walls you will find a wealth of historic buildings, including its triple-nave cathedral, which was first consecrated in 1213.

You can opt to join the guide on a short walking tour followed by some free time, or if you would prefer to explore independently there is also the opportunity to discover Trogir completely at your own pace. Stroll its tree-lined waterfront boulevard, see the 14th-century Venetian fortress of Kamerlengo, and browse the wares at Trogir’s bustling market.

Walking during your free time is at your discretion. If you decide to join the optional walking tour, you should expect to walk up to 650 yards, at times over cobbled ground and with a few steps. Walking during your free time is at your discretion. The journey to and from Trogir will take approximately 45 minutes.

Begin your panoramic coastal tour with a drive to Jadranska. Here, you will stop and enjoy an impressive view across the old town, the old harbour and Lokrum Island. The drive continues along the coast to Zupa Dubrovacka, a popular summer resort.

Next, head to the Bay of Rijeka Dubrovacka, a fjord-like valley known for its 15th and 16th-century Renaissance summer residences. The marina here is often filled with luxury yatchs. The drive continues west, enjoy views of the many tourist resorts before pausing at the Dubrovnik Bridge for a photo stop. Then continue back to your ship.

This tour offers an introduction to Syracuse, as you see some of the city's attractions by coach and enjoy a refreshment stop along the way. During your panoramic drive you will pass the front of the English War Cemetery, the Tomb of Archimedes, the silhouette of Basilica of Our Lady of the Tears and the Catacombe of St John. There will be a short photo stop in Villaggio Miano to capture the view and a stop at the Neapolis Archaeological area for a coffee and local snack.

There is an essential walking distance of 350 yards on this excursion to reach the refreshment venue. Due to the size of the coaches and parking limitations you will need to negotiate crossing the street to access the refreshment venue. You will not be able to remain on the coach during the refreshment stop, due to local regulations. Aside from the refreshment stop, this is a predominantly coach-based tour, with most sightseeing taking place from the coach. Some of the photo stops will be from the coach, due to limited parking areas for coaches. The order of visits may vary. Coaches cannot access many of Syracuse’s main tourist sites in the town centre, therefore if you are looking to explore on foot then please consider an alternative tour.

Enjoy the opportunity to explore the Baroque city of Noto on your own. UNESCO-listed Noto was rebuilt in the 18th century after an earthquake destroyed the town in 1693. After a 45-minute drive from Syracuse, passing through villages and almond groves you arrive in Siracusa province's second largest town – Noto. During the drive a guide will provide information and recommendations for what to do during your free time in Noto.

On arrival, walk the 400 yards to the centre of the town and then enjoy one-and-a-half hours at leisure to explore independently. We recommend taking a walk to the cathedral, browsing the shops or simply relaxing in a local bar or cafe where you can admire the surrounding architecture.

Additional Information

You will have approximately one-and-a-half hours of free time to explore Noto independently, this excursion does not include a guided tour of Noto. Essential walking of 800 yards is required, from where the bus drops you off to the town centre. Walking during time at leisure is at your discretion. If you decide to explore the town fully, the walk along the main street is approximately 500 yards each way and there is additional walking and steps required to visit the cathedral.

You start the tour by heading towards the airfield runway to reach the British/Spanish Frontier. Proceed towards the southernmost point of Gibraltar, Europa Point and the sight of the only Trinity Lighthouse outside Great Britain. Here, alight from your tour vehicle to take some photographs of the views of the busiest shipping lane in the world, the mingling of the Mediterranean Sea, Atlantic Ocean and two continents. 

Then, head to the Rock of Gibraltar. Drive past Princess Caroline’s Battery to Winston Churchill Avenue for a short stop at the road which crosses the runway of Gibraltar International Airport. Afterwards, head back to the ship.

The duration of this tour is dependent on traffic. Any type of wheelchairs, scooters or foldable walkers are not permitted on the buses. These can be brought to the bus and then stored at the terminal until you return from the tour. At Winston Churchill Avenue, if a plane is landing or taking off, the coach will stop behind the gate.

Leaving the port of Motril with your coach and local guide, travel along the busy coastal road to Nerja, a seaside town at the eastern end of the Costa del Sol. Although now a popular resort, it has retained its Moorish appearance, with picturesque streets of whitewashed houses.

Nerja is most famous for its prehistoric caves, about two miles from the town centre. The caves were discovered by a group of boys from the nearby village of Maro in 1959 and are now one of Andalusia’s most popular tourist attractions. Formed by underground rivers and natural calcification five million years ago, this three-mile cave system features dramatic stalactites and stalagmites. Explore the open sections as your guide shares its geological history.

After exploring the caves, continue to the town of Nerja where you will begin a short walking tour. Stroll through its quaint streets lined with whitewashed buildings. You will then have some time at leisure to explore. Perhaps head to the Balcón de Europa to take in the views before the return drive to your ship.

There are approximately 450 steps to negotiate inside the caves. It will be dark; the ground will be uneven and may be wet and slippery. The average temperature inside the cave is 19 degrees Celsius. Expect to walk approximately three- and three-quarter miles on this excursion. You will spend approximately one hour at the caves. You will have 30 minutes of free time in Nerja, where walking is at your discretion. This tour is not suitable for those with limited mobility, or those who suffer from claustrophobia. It is forbidden to touch or alter the geological formations.

Set off on a scenic drive through Costa Tropical’s villages, with a stop in Almuñécar where you will have free time to explore. Your drive along the western coast takes you through La Herradura, a quaint town known for its horseshoe shaped bay. To the east, Punta de la Mona features a rocky promontory adorned with luxury villas.

Further along the coastline is Marina del Este, a bustling port known for its water sports scene and picturesque coves dotted with sailboats. Next, it is time to head to Almuñécar. Founded by the Phoenicians in the eighth century BC, Almuñécar thrived during the Roman times. Its current name, however originated from its long Moorish occupation. Here you will have approximately 45 minutes of free time before heading back to Motril.

This excursion has an approximate driving time of one-and-a-half hours, with approximately 45 minutes of free time in Almuñécar. Most of the sightseeing will be from the coach. The order of sights may vary. Walking during your free time in Almuñécar will be at your discretion.

Leave Motril behind and head inland to Granada, perched 2,100 feet above sea level at the foot of the Sierra Nevada. Once ruled by the Moors from the eighth century until 1492, Granada is packed with history and panoramic views.

On arrival you will have approximately four hours to explore this city on your own. Perhaps wander through the streets of the Albaicín, the historic Arab quarter offering views of Alhambra Palace at Plaza San Nicolas. Alternatively, explore the central areas of the city, where you'll find the cathedral and the Royal Chapel.

After exploring Granda at your leisure, it is time to reboard the motor coach for the return drive to your ship in Motril.

Additional Information

This excursion is not guided but an escort will accompany you on the coach journey. The drive from Motril to Granada will take approximately one-and-a-half hours each way and you will be dropped off at and picked up at Paseo de la Bomba, a historic walkway. Your visit to Granada is independent, where you will have approximately four hours of free time. The duration of free time can be impacted by traffic conditions. Walking is at your discretion, but a moderate amount will be required to explore the city. We recommend that you wear flat, walking shoes, as the streets in Granada, especially in the old part of the city, are mostly uneven with cobblestones.

Leave Motril behind and head inland to Granada, perched 2,100 feet above sea level beneath the Sierra Nevada. Once ruled by the Moors from the eighth century until 1492, Granada’s crown jewel is the Alhambra palace, a maze of buildings, courtyards, and domes that showcase the peak of Moorish architecture. Hear the fairytale of A Thousand & One Nights and admire the last capital of the Moors.

Inside the Alhambra, discover the Nazaries Palace with its stucco walls, intricate ceilings, and elaborate honeycomb vaulting. Whilst here you can wander through the courtyards, including the famed Patio de los Leones, where water flows from the mouths of twelve lions. Next, visit the Generalife, the Sultans’ summer retreat, complete with terraces, grottoes, and fountains that bring the beauty of the past to life. Then, rejoin your motorcoach for the journey back to your ship.

You will spend approximately two-and-a-half hours at the Alhambra Palace and Generalife Gardens, the visit is entirely on foot, so there will be extended periods of standing. There are 200 steps at Alhambra and 60 steps at the Generalife gardens to negotiate. The journeys to and from Granada will take approximately one hour each way. Enjoy a scenic drive from Motril to Las Alpujarras, a series of picturesque mountain villages. These white-washed towns sit on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada, separated by deep valleys that lead down to the Mediterranean. The Alpujarra region is renowned for its unique microclimate. Its terraced farmlands are constantly watered by the snowmelt from above, creating a high-altitude oasis of greenery dramatically contrasting with the arid foothills below. The area is rich with history, once serving as the last stronghold of the Spanish Moors.

Pause for a short photo stop at Presa de Rules, before continuing your drive, passing through Orgiva before you reach Pampaneira Village, which lies almost 5,000 feet above sea level. The village retains its traditional Berber architecture, with terraced clusters of grey-white box-shaped houses and flat clay roofs, a style still seen in Morocco’s Rif and Atlas mountains. On arrival, you will embark on a 30-minute walking tour before pausing at a local bar to sample some tapas. Afterwards, you will have some time at leisure to explore. As you make your way back to the ship, pass through the village of Orgiva, and stop in Lanjarón for some time at leisure before heading back to your ship.

You will spend one and a half hours in Pampaneira which consists of an approximate 30-minute guided walk, time at a local bar for light tapas and 20 minutes free time. The terrain in Pampaneira will be uneven with cobblestones and some steps to negotiate. You will spend approximately 40 minutes in Lanjarón where walking is at your discretion during your free time.

Start with a short transfer from the pier to Motril, where your walking tour begins at the Sanctuary Nuestra Senora de la Cabeza. Built on the ruins of a Moorish castle, this site was once the summer residence of Queen Aixa AlHorra. In the old town, see the Mayor de la Encarnación Church, dating back to 1510, before passing landmarks like the Town Hall and the 19th-century Calderón de la Barca Theatre.

After your walking tour, visit the Preindustrial Sugarcane Museum, set on the ruins of a 16th-century sugar mill behind the ‘Casa de la Palma.’ The museum showcases how sugarcane was produced and traded between the 13th and 18th centuries, offering a glimpse into Spain’s early sugar industry.

Next, visit Bodega Ron Montero, a family-run distillery founded in 1963 with deep roots in the sugarcane industry. Learn about its history and the rum-making process before sampling the run. Afterwards, reboard the motorcoach for your short return drive to the ship.

Explore the mysteries of the ancient Tarxien Temples and the UNESCO World Heritage Site Hagar Qim. Travel by coach to Malta’s southern town of Tarxien to visit its famous temples. Discovered by farmers in 1913, the Tarxien Temples date back to 3150 BC and offer a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Malta's prehistoric civilisation.

The journey continues to the equally impressive Hagar Qim. These megalithic structures date back 6,000 years, predating the pyramids of Egypt and making them among the most ancient sacred sites on Earth. Start your visit with a short audio-visual presentation in the visitor centre.

Then proceed to the Hagar Qim Temples. The purpose of these mysterious structures is the subject of much debate. With a guide you will proceed to view the Mnajdra Temples – perhaps the best preserved and most evocative of Malta’s prehistoric sites. Your tour continues with a scenic drive along the scenic Dingli Cliffs, offering a panoramic view of Malta's rugged coastline. The journey includes a stop at Ghar Lapsi, where you can disembark, wander at your leisure, and capture photos of this serene coastal setting before making your way back to the ship.

Enjoy a scenic ride from Valletta through the pretty towns and villages of Malta to Mdina. Known as the ‘Silent City’, it is the former capital of Malta and one of the finest ancient walled cities in the world. Walk through part of it and see the many handsome buildings and narrow streets, palaces and museums.

You first visit the Baroque Cathedral of St Peter and St Paul, rebuilt at the end of the 17th century, and then continue to the bastions for a panoramic view of the island. Next, travel to Mosta Square, admiring the Mosta Dome which crowns the Church of the Assumption. During World War Two, a shell penetrated the dome but landed unexploded on the church floor. Spend some time here and see a replica of the bomb, which is housed inside, before returning to the ship.

Take the scenic route to Malta's old capital, Mdina, which is one of the world's finest examples of a living medieval city. Stroll through the narrow streets and let your guide introduce you to its history. From the bastions, enjoy a fantastic view over the valley and the surrounding areas.

Leaving Mdina, travel by coach to Valletta, the present-day capital. Walk to St John's Co-Cathedral and view this lovely building from the outside, and also see the exterior of the Grand Master's Palace. Continue past the Auberge de Castille, your last stop is at the Barrakka Gardens, located on the highest point of the 16th-century walls.

Visit three of Malta’s Gardens, San Anton Gardens, Buskett Gardens and Upper Barakka Gardens. Your tour starts with a short drive to St Anton Gardens, which surround San Anton Palace – the official residence of the President of Malta. These elegant gardens date from the 17th century, when each visitor would gift a new plant to the garden’s collection.

During your visit admire the array of ancient trees, some of which are more than 300 years old. Next, head to Buskett Woodlands, one of Malta’s few woodland areas, and an oasis of greenery dedicated to preserving the endemic flora and fauna. Planted by the Knights of Malta, the Buskett Gardens form part of the Verdala Palace, another official residence of the President of Malta.

Pause at a refreshment venue for a soft drink before continuing to the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta, renowned for its history, scenery and surroundings. Located on the upper tier of St Peter and Paul Bastion, which was built in the 1560s, here you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Grand Harbour and the surrounding landscape before a short drive to the port.

Your tour starts with a short coach transfer to Sliema, where you will board your boat and set off to visit the ports of Marsamxett and the Grand Harbour. These natural creeks make Valletta one of the most beautiful ports in Europe. The views of the fortifications from the seaward side are unique and a treasure for photographers. The harbour mouth faces north-east and is bounded to the north by St Elmo’s Point and to the south by Ricasoli Point. Its north-west shore is formed by the Scebarras Peninsula, which is largely occupied by the city of Valletta and its suburb Floriana.

A detailed commentary will tell you the history of Valletta and the Three Cities of Birgu, Senglea and Cospicua, with particular emphasis on the two Great Sieges of 1565 and 1942. Also hear about other places of interest including the historic forts, battlements and creeks that can only be admired from the sea. These include Fort St Angelo, which withstood the Turks during the Great Siege of Malta, and Fort Ricasoli, built by the Knights of Malta between 1670 and 1693. You will also see Manoel Island with its fort, in Marsamxett Harbour, as well as the city walls that surround Valletta.

Afterwards, a coach short transfer will take you back to Valletta.

The second-largest island in the Maltese archipelago, Gozo is situated less than four miles from the Maltese mainland. It has been inhabited since the fifth millennium BC, and its history is closely tied with that of neighbouring Malta. Your tour starts with a coach drive to Cirkewwa, to board a public ferry for the 20-minute crossing.

Reaching Gozo, the difference between the two islands becomes immediately apparent: many visitors feel that Gozo is greener and more picturesque than Malta. During this excursion, you will visit the prehistoric Ggantija Temples – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – and the modern interpretation centre that gives an insight into Gozo’s prehistoric past. Next, pause for a photo at Qala Belvedere before stopping at a local restaurant for a snack. Back on board your coach you will see the Citadel, first fortified during the Bronze Age and developed into a complex fortress by Roman times. It is the main sight of the island’s capital, Rabat, which was renamed ‘Victoria’ in honour of the British Queen in 1887.

You will have a stop Basilica Ta' Pinu where you can visit the church and surrounding areas at your own leisure, followed by a drive back to the ferry for the return journey to the ship.

Korčula may be Croatia’s sixth largest island, but at just 20 miles long and five miles wide, it is packed with history and natural beauty. Its dense forests earned it the name “Black Korčula” from the ancient Greeks, who were struck by its dark, tree-covered landscape.

Begin a scenic drive around the island of Korčula, through charming villages, lush vineyards and olive groves offering glimpses of the island’s rich heritage and scenery. You will pass medieval stone walls and panoramic viewpoints offering vistas of the sea and the surrounding islands. Afterwards, pause at the Hotel Korčula for a tea, coffee or soft drink on the terrace overlooking Korčula harbour.

This is a scenic drive lasting approximately one hour and 45 minutes, with no photo stops. At the refreshment venue, you will need to walk 100 metres and negotiate ten steps.

Your tour starts with a short boat transfer to Orebic, followed by a scenic drive along the Pelješac Peninsula to Ston, Croatia’s “Oyster Capital.” Often known as a more compact version of Dubrovnik, Ston is surrounded by medieval walls, built between the 14th and 16th centuries. Stretching for miles, they are the second-longest defensive walls in the world – just behind the Great Wall of China. Ston is home to ancient salt pans still in use today, but it’s the town’s oysters that make Ston so notable. After a short walking tour here, you’ll board a local boat to the oyster and mussel beds where you can see the production process, from the initial planting to freshly prepared oysters and mussel buzara that you can taste. Afterwards, head back to your ship in Korčula.

Expect to walk approximately 1100 yards. You must be able to embark and disembark the boats independently. This tour includes a fresh oyster and mussel tasting and Mussel Bouzara on board the boat. The boat transfer to and from Orebic will take approximately 20 minutes each way. The drive to and from Ston will take approximately one hour each way.

Take a guided walk through Korčula for a brief but insightful introduction to this historic fortified town. Korčula’s Old Town is a masterpiece of medieval architecture and urban design, featuring charming squares, historic churches, palaces, and traditional stone homes. Its fishbone-like shape allows its structures to clear the air from incoming winds, acting as a natural air conditioning system.

From the pier, you will begin your tour along the cobblestone streets to your first stop, the Cathedral of St Mark followed by a visit to the Bishop's Palace, which reveals some of the hidden treasures of the town, including sketches and drawings by Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Tiepolo and others. You will pass by the alleged birth house of Marco Polo before finishing the tour in the centre of the old town. From here, you can choose to head back to the ship independently or explore more of Korcula on your own.

Expect to walk approximately half of a mile with up to ten steps to negotiate at the Cathedral of St Mark.

The Peljesac peninsula is known for producing the best wines in Croatia. On this tour you will visit three cellars offering an opportunity to taste the red wines of Dingac and Postup. Your tour starts with a short boat transfer from Korčula to the Pelješac Peninsula on Croatia’s mainland, arriving in the seaside town of Orebić.

From there, travel by motorcoach to Mike Grgich, one of the region’s most renowned wine cellars. The Grgich Winery, located in Trstenik, is nestled in a wooded area with views of the rocky Adriatic coastline. Whilst there, you’ll have the chance to sample wines from the Pelješac Peninsula.

Experience the pristine natural beauty of Croatia during this scenic half-day excursion to Krka National Park. This excursion will take you to the beautiful Skradinski Buk Waterfall. It is the longest waterfall on the Krka River, cascading over several barriers, the highest fall is 150 feet. Above the falls there is a large plateau that offers a panoramic view. In the park you will need to walk in excess of a mile over gravel, inclines and uneven terrain, with up to 200 steps. You’ll travel by coach to the Dubrovnik cable car, which first opened in 1969 and has recently been refurbished. The cable car ascends to a height of approximately 1,500 feet and provides vast views over Dubrovnik’s Old Town. At the upper station there is a café, restrooms and souvenir shop, as well as a spacious terrace with coin-operated telescopes where you can admire more of the view.

You’ll head back down to the lower station where you’ll board your coach for the journey to Cavtat. Travel by coach along the scenic Adriatic Road to Ston – the “Oyster Capital” of Croatia – which is often seen as a delightfully smaller copy of Dubrovnik. There are ancient salt pans that still produce salt, but it is its oysters which make the town so notable.

Begin your tour with a visit to St Nicolas’ Church and the attached Franciscan monastery, which is located at the foot of Mount Vrmac in Prcanj. Discover the history of the Franciscan monks and learn about decorated explorer, Ivan Visin, who was born in Prcanj and became the first Croat to circumnavigate the globe.

Next, an awaiting boat will take you to Our Lady of the Rocks, a small artificial islet in the Bay of Kotor. Next, you will head to a restaurant by the Crnojevica River for a local lunch, before a scenic drive through both Cetinje and Budva brings you back to your awaiting ship in Kotor.

Depart Kotor and head south for a drive of approximately one hour to a panoramic viewpoint to enjoy the best view of Sveti Stefan Island from above. Sveti Stefan Island is located on the outskirts of Budva and used to be a fishing village set on a rock in the sea, today the entire island is a luxury summer resort.

After the photo stop, you will head towards Budva. Legend recounts it was founded by Cadmo, son of Phoenician King Agenon, after his exile from Thebes. Once a small island, the town is now linked to the mainland by a sandy isthmus. Here, set off on a walking tour of the old town with your guide and admire the view from the Citadela – Budva`s city walls followed by some time at leisure.

Next, you will head to the farm of the Carevic family, providing an opportunity to see how people used to live in a traditional Montenegrin coastal village. Having experienced everyday life on the farm, you will reboard the motorcoach for the return drive to the ship.

Duomo Square is the central point of the city and home to Syracuse Cathedral, where you will enjoy a short visit inside. Your walking tour ends with a stop at the Arethusa Fountain before returning to the ship on foot.

Leave the pier by coach and head to Catania. On arrival in ancient Catania, you will drive past several key sights, such as the Piazza Verga, Piazza Stesicoro and Villa Bellini, before taking a guided walking tour of the city centre.

It begins in the Piazza del Duomo, Catania’s central square, renowned for its black lava Elephant Fountain. See numerous university buildings surrounding the square, as well as the 18th-century Municipio. Catania was rebuilt after being destroyed by an earthquake in 1693, and lava stone was used in many buildings by architect Giovanni Vaccarini, giving the grand Baroque architecture a dusky twist.

Afterwards, you will have approximately 30 minutes of free time for shopping or relaxing in Via Etnea.

Visit the city of Ragusa, known as a city divided in two, with its modern new town and ancient, Baroque style old town known as Ilba. Leaving the port of Syracuse, drive towards Ragusa where you start your visit with a walking tour. After the earthquake of 1693, the city of Ragusa was rebuilt in a Baroque style and today Ragusa Ilba contains over 50 churches and palaces in this architectural style.

During your walking tour you will see some of the town’s highlights, including St George’s Portal, the 19th-century Giardino Ibleo Garden and Church of St James the Apostle, which was rebuilt in the 18th century. The Cathedral of St George, built between 1706 and 1760, has an impressive Baroque facade and bell tower and stands in a wide terrace on a loggia overlooking the central Piazza Duomo. After your walking tour there will be an opportunity to explore further during some time at leisure before re-boarding your coach and returning to Syracuse.

Stroll around the Alameda Gardens before capturing views of The Gibraltar Rock on a scenic cable car ride. This tour will also take you to delight in the collection of plants at Alameda Gardens, which are an important conservation project. 

First, join your guide who will point out the various plants, sights and wildlife whilst also describing its rich history as you wander around the grounds. Gibraltar’s cable car is the territory’s only purpose-built tourist attraction, and you then have the chance to ride up to the very top of the Rock. Enjoy free time to wander around the many terraces and capture the views of the city of Gibraltar to the west and the coastline of Africa to the south. 

After your tour, a shuttle service will take you straight back to the ship, or you may prefer to be dropped off in the Irish town pedestrian area to explore the many shops. Alternatively, relax in a pub or cafe, before making your own way back to the ship.

Once you are in the garden grounds, the paths are generally paved with some steep gradients, some areas may be uneven and there will be approximately 25 steps to negotiate throughout the gardens. Please expect queues and crowds at the cable car and be aware that the cable car may not operate during harsh weather conditions which can also affect the views you will see. Passengers are reminded that Gibraltar’s apes may be encountered on this excursion and should not be touched or fed as they may bite. Learn about Gibraltar's unique wartime history on this tour. Begin by travelling past the British/Spanish Land Frontier. Your first stop is Europa Point, site of the only Trinity Lighthouse outside Britain, where you can savour dramatic views of the Atlantic merging with the Mediterranean.

Next you will be taken to the nature reserve, home of the Northern Defences Sector, where you might be able to catch a glimpse of Gibraltar’s most famous residents, the mischievous Barbary apes. Continue to the Hays Level where you begin a guided tour and visit the exhibition which displays a collection of photographs illustrating the history of the World War Two tunnels.

This tour involves walking of up to approximately three-quarters-of-a-mile lasting around 45 minutes with a steep incline of 450 yards on the way out of the tunnels. There are some low ceilings in the tunnels.

Go in search of dolphins and other marine life on this aquatic-creature based boat trip. Gibraltar’s bay boasts three species of dolphin and seven species of whale, as well as sunfish, flying fish and turtles. After departing from your ship, take the short drive to the ‘Dolphin World’ pleasure cruiser.

Then, after setting off into the bay, learn about the history of this tiny colony, and you will be given an insight into the marine life of the bay with a running commentary from your guide. After landing, return transport will be available back to the ship, or if there’s enough time, you can choose to walk into town for shopping and a little independent exploration.

We recommend that you take some warm clothing for the boat ride. This excursion involves approximately 300 yards of walking to reach the vessel and a couple of steps to board the vessel unassisted. From the quayside, travel north towards Gibraltar’s unique airport runway to the border between this small British Overseas territory and Spain. Proceed along the outskirts of town, passing the American War Memorial and The Trafalgar Cemetery to arrive at Europa Point.

After a panoramic tour, you will be dropped off in front of the Bristol Hotel in Main Street, where you will be greeted by the Distillery Manager who will walk you to the venue. The tour begins with a brief history of the Art of Distilling, plus an insight into gin production before a comprehensive timeline of gin’s chequered past. Enjoy a gin tasting experience, before returning to the port.
