It is always nice to arrive in Gibraltar, with the rock on the starboard side & sun rising in the background. We picked up our British Oversees Territory Pilot a little earlier this morning as we made good progress overnight and we were ready alongside from just after 9am. It was the time to go ashore as later in the day we would have the Sapphire Princess in, bringing many more people to Gib and also blocking our clear view from the port side!! I always take a stroll into town for a coffee and bacon sandwich and do some Christmas shopping while I am there. M&S also has to be visited – of course it does!!
Guests no doubt today would be on excursions taking them up to the top of the Rock, along with tours around Gib and the fortress.
5pm comes about quickly when we are here and after a sunny day later on and refuelling the ship it was time to leave our last port for this cruise and we now have 3 seadays ahead of us before Portsmouth next week. We have been blessed with sunshine in the Med for the most part so very lucky for the end of October. Crew show to look forward to tonight – who is going to be the Ballerina in “If I were not upon the Sea” – I wonder?
