Our brand new ship is coming to life!

It's an exciting time for Saga Cruises, as work is well underway on the planning and design of our first purpose-built cruise ship, to be delivered in Summer 2019.

Although the new itineraries won't be on sale until later in the year, you can make an Advance Registration NOW for a fully-refundable payment of just £90 per person*.

Not only does this mean you’ll reserve a place on one of the first cruises – you’ll also receive an additional 5% saving off the usual discounted fare! This offer is limited to the first 10,000 customers only, so please don’t delay! Call FREE on 0800 015 4310 and speak to our Cruise Consultants today.

If you change your mind about your pre-registration or if Saga is unable to confirm your cruise nearer the time, your deposit will be refunded in full.

So what can we tell you about our new ship? Carrying fewer than 1000 passengers, she will retain the intimacy and personal service for which we are renowned. There will also be single-sitting dining in a choice of speciality restaurants, a selection of bars, indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, fabulous library, signature Britannia Lounge and much more – all with a fresh and contemporary twist on the traditions of classic Saga cruising.

The cabins are going to be a real showcase – spacious and modern, the ship’s design also means every one will have a balcony. In addition, around 15% of the accommodation will be for solo travellers, with a choice of single cabin grades.

Below are some of the artist’s impressions of the new ship. Hopefully you’ll agree, she’s going to be a real showstopper!

David Pickett

As our brand new ship takes shape, we caught up with David Pickett, who is spearheading the project, to see how things are progressing…

We are currently liaising closely with the Meyer Werft shipyard in Hamburg, and every day is full of exciting developments.

A huge amount of thought and detail has gone into the design and construction. We’ve just finalised the sizes of the restaurants and the theatre. The designs of the stunning balcony cabins are also being finalised. The whole ship certainly has the ‘wow’ factor!

At the moment we’re heavily focused on technical design, the engine, generator and propulsion plant. Everything to make sure we deliver a practical, working ship of the highest specification. It’s a challenge, but certainly an exciting one. Quote

Andy Yuell

We also chatted to Andy Yuill, an expert in creating cutting-edge designs for the world’s finest vessels, to see what he has in store for Saga’s exciting new project.

I think people are going to be surprised by what Saga will deliver with this ship – expect the unexpected! We are maintaining the best bits of the existing brand, but introducing new and unexpected elements. It’s a ship built for a British company, with the customers at the forefront.

At the moment we’re working closely with the Saga team to ensure that we understand their vision which we can then develop, and turn into a reality. Plus, we’re very fortunate to be building at Meyer Werft where I have gained considerable experience over the years – they’re the best in the world. Quote
