Royal Navy Dockyard Bermuda
Bermuda was home to the Royal Navy in the western Atlantic from 1795 to 1995. Today it is primarily a port for cruise ships and yachts. With its museum, shops, restaurants and historic buildings it makes for a fantastic port visit.
Sometimes referred to as the “Gibraltar of the West” this dockyard was established after the loss of the American colonies in 1783. It acted as a bridge between the Royal Navy’s Halifax and West Indies bases.
With Hamilton just across the bay via tender the port offers a lot, aside from its beauty.
