Burn's Night

25th January, 2022

Good Day Everyone

I do hope everyone is well. I’d like to introduce one of my Bridge team, Marc. He and the others help to keep everyone onboard safe and secure while we are at sea and in port. Thank you Marc.

Hello Everyone, my name is Marc and I am one of the 3rd Officers on board Spirit of Discovery.

I’d like to start by thanking Captain Jason for allowing me to wear my kilt on New Year’s Eve, or “Hogmanay” and again on Burns night. Did you know that a Scotsman wearing a kilt will never tell you what he is wearing underneath? He will simply show you!

Let me tell you a little more about myself and what I do when I am on board. My job is to ensure that when the Captain is not on the Bridge that we get safely from point A to point B during my time on watch. I started my cadetship in 2014 with Royal Caribbean Group and since then have worked all over the industry from UK based ferries to large LNG Tankers in the Middle East. I have worked for Saga in the past on short term contracts, but was lucky enough to be included in the delivery team for Spirit of Adventure before transferring to Discovery during our time in Layup.

To everyone at home and on board, have a fantastic year and I’ll hopefully see you on board again soon!

Kind Regards
Captain Jason Ikiadis
