A short distance from Gijón we arrived in Santander still under darkness. It took us sometime to manoeuvre to the berth which is located right downtown, and just a short walk for our guests into the centrum.
The port established its roots sometime in the 11th century. Much of the medieval city however was lost in the great fire of 1941. Today its remaining old town, beach and other attractions are all rich in Spanish culture.
