Bergen
I cannot believe it again – no rain in Bergen, that is two times in a row now!
We picked our pilot up this morning at the Fedje Pilot Station at 5am, little windy outside but once we were in the lee of the fjord we were ok. We came alongside just after 8am to our downtown pier and many guests ready to go ashore after their sea day yesterday coming from Dover. Bergen was busy today with lots of locals as it was the weekend combined with lots of shipping in the area. Our guests were ready to go on a nice stroll, or even a hike, in these sunny, positively summer like conditions!!
We extended our stay in Bergen by 2 hours which allowed the wind to die down a bit outside of the fjord. We hosted our Britannia Club party in the Britannia Lounge and how beautiful it was with the backdrop of the mountains and Bergen with sunshine glistening in through the glass roof – I love that Britannia Lounge.
7pm and time to set sail and we turned the ship around and proceeded out of the harbour and fjord. We dropped our pilot off around 9pm and then it was a gentle speed up to the entrance to the Geiranger Fjord transit – I am very much looking forward to that!
