Civitavecchia

26th November, 2019

Well another glorious day on the Italian mainland coast. We are in Civitavecchia today, the 3rd busiest port in this region of the Med, and many of our guests keen to get into Rome. Sunny skies and light winds greeted us at 7am this morning and with us being the only cruise ship here today we were straight in, turned in the inside turning basin and backed up to our berth 11 at the far east of the harbour.

8am and many Saganauts ready with shorts and t-shirts for their Rome explorations. Me and mum were on tour today, going on the Behind The Scenes Vatican tour, I love the Sistine Chapel and Michelangelo was so gifted in all the work he did.

After a wonderful day in Rome it was time to leave at 6:30pm ready for our short trip down to Salerno. We have been so lucky with the weather and it is due to continue – happy days!

Tonight we have the wonderful Maria Lyn doing her show in the Playhouse Theatre – cannot wait!

See you in Salerno!!!
