Piombino
Well a first for this ship to go to Piombino, which serves the area surrounding Pisa in Italy, just to the south of Livorno.
I have been here before in my previous company and it is a nice area to be in. We are certainly blessed with the weather today with lovely sunshine and hot temperatures – what a day to visit Pisa.
We picked up our pilot at 7am and with light airs in the harbour we spun the ship around on arrival and docked bow out of our berth. Gangway out and all the tours proceeded off the ship along with our exploring Saganauts jumping on the shuttle bus.
I sat on the back deck for a coffee and a break and it was beautiful and warm – you would have thought it was July!! I love the Leaning Tower of Pisa and it was funny to see the guests researching on how to take a picture so it looks as if you are pushing it up – the wonders of modern technology!!
We extended our stay here until 6:30pm all aboard which was welcomed by everyone and then it was time to set off to Civitavecchia – my turn to go ashore and to Rome – and to the Vatican; fantastic!!
Great sunny day – happy guests – happy Captain & Crew – perfect!!!
