Porto Torres

24th November, 2019

Well here we are in a dry northern part of Sardinia – Porto Torres. A first for me so it will be nice to go exploring around the local area. Last night we held our Britannia Club Cocktail Party and it was great to catch up with our Saganauts and show off our great new ship in the Britannia Lounge.

Nice weather conditions today and light airs in the harbour – that equals a happy Captain. After we finished docking I nipped down to the gangway to see our guests off who were going on tour, many going to Alghero and exploring the Sardinian coast. Busy day for the ships officers today's with meeting preparing for our next cruise to the USA – we are all very excited, but a lot of planning is necessary!!!

I managed to go in the shuttle bus to the local town and grab a coffee with my mum – very nice I must say, Italians know how to do coffee well!! 4:30pm comes about quickly today and time to leave ready for the Italian main coast tomorrow.

We backed the ship out of the slip and turned the vessel around near the breakwater and dropped off our pilot. Good weather to go through the Bonifacio Straits tonight (the stretch of water separating Corsica and Sardinia) which is always welcomed. We also have our Newcomers Party tonight so busy Captain!!

Speak soon – tomorrow Pisa!!!
