Alesund

Again another great day here in Alesund, we really are blessed with the weather. We sailed into Alesund fjord and inner harbour bang on time this morning and approached our downtown berth and alongside ready to go from 8am. Nice also to be the only cruise ship in today which means are guests can truly explore and absorb the local ambience without being disturbed by others. It was nice to see many smiling faces as I stood at the bottom of the gangway today and guest with no coats just t-shirts and sun tan lotion – are we in Norway??
Alesund, if you have not been before, is kind of similar to some small islands linked by bridges making a fantastic harbour scene with some famous Art Nouveau architecture. I love this area and I know our guests will love it too. Today we also held our Plaque ceremony with the port in the Atrium and it was a pleasure to show the around our new ship.
4:30pm comes about quickly after a beautiful sunny day here. All aboard and off we go – sounding the lovely deep ship’s whistle as we go!!
We dropped off our pilot at the entrance to the Fjord and it was time for dinner – tonight is a special Diamond Dinner and we have a lovely evening lined up for them after our Britannia Club Cocktail Party.
Next stop Haugesund tomorrow, full steam ahead…
