Madeira

9th December, 2019

Blessed with the weather on the way down with our 3 sea days and blessed with the weather here in Funchal today. Lots of activities going on around the ship on the 3 sea days down including great food and great entertainment. On Saturday the 7th Dec we held our Welcome onboard Cocktail Party and this was well attended by all in the Britannia Lounge – my favourite lounge at sea!!

We picked up pilot up at 7am this morning, and after the Aida Nova docked, we proceeded bow in to our downtown berth – perfect for walking into town. Many keen Saganauts at the gangway ready to explore and maybe treat themselves to Steak on a Stone.

I ventured off just after 11am with some guest friends and we had lunch in the main square along with classic guitar music and sunshine – what more could you ask?

5pm came about quick today and we were ready for our 6 sea day Atlantic Crossing. We played battle of the horns with Marella Explorer on our departure and many people out on deck for our sailaway.

We have a nice photo of us sailing away into the sunset (not taken by me HAHAHAHA), and with good weather forecast we have lots in store for our guests to keep them entertained.

Full steam ahead to Barbados…..see you soon!
