Well here we are in our home port of Dover ready for another start to a great cruise. We said goodbye to our guests who joined us for our Norway cruise and we are preparing ready for our Gourmet Spain. This cruise we have some special guests joining us – Celebrity Chef Kevin Woodford, a good friend of mine, and our very own Mr Jools Holland – what a true gentleman and the heart of the Boogie Woogie!
Many stores to load for a near 60,000t ship today, ready for our 2 week adventure. Weather is looking good all the way down – that means happy guests and a happy Captain. My senior team this cruise are Staff Captain Matt, Chief Engineer Dave, General Hotel Manager Dawn and Cruise Director Kayleigh.
All onboard and time to do our Passenger Emergency Drill – a mandatory and very important part of our safety procedures onboard.
All completed and time to set sail and head through the English Channel and then through the Bay of Biscay, down the Portuguese coast and then rounding the Algarve coast, aiming for the Gibraltar Straits and our first port of call Gibraltar.
Full steam ahead – I want to see the Sun!
