Barcelona

11th August, 2019

Another beautiful day in the wonderful city of Barcelona, we have been so lucky. We picked our pilot up at 6:30am this morning and we were scheduled to berth at my favourite spot – World Trade Centre South Pier – the best of the lot. A little hop through the terminal, over the roundabout and you are in La Rambla – this being the famous street in central Barcelona. La Rambla stretches for just under a mile and is full of activity and restaurants, with a lot going on around it. If you have not been there before it is a must to see!

With our airbridge connected it was time for our guests to go exploring either on foot or on one of organised trips. Shorts and t-shirts are everywhere and the smell of sun tan lotion – very good to protect yourself from the sun today.

First time on this ship into Barcelona so yes, that means Plaque ceremony – attached a nice photo for you.

4:30pm comes around quickly and it was time to depart. We were looking across the harbour at the Norwegian Epic and Oasis of the Seas and seeing just how big some cruise ships have become!!

We dropped our pilot off when clear of the entrance breakwaters then it was full steam ahead to Alicante on the Costa Blanca.
