The Elbe winds through natural splendour and cities steeped in history
The Elbe River starts its 724-mile long journey in the Krkonoše mountains in the Czech Republic, wending its way through Bohemia and Germany to conclude its travels beyond Hamburg at the North Sea.
To cruise the Elbe is to cruise an ever-changing and captivating landscape, punctuated by scenic vistas and historic cities such as Magdeburg, Wittenberg (where Martin Luther taught) and Meissen, renown for its porcelain.
It's also one of central Europe's most important waterways and a cruise is a great way of getting to know some of its qualities and attractions.
