Dining experience

Award-winning cuisine in a choice of venues

Deciding when and where to dine is all part of the Saga boutique cruise experience. And both Spirit of Discovery and Spirit of Adventure offer a wide variety of choices, all included in the price of your cruise.

From world-class dishes of meat, fish and vegetarian cuisine, to fine wines and a selection of irresistible desserts, we give our talented chefs free rein to shop, plan and prepare their own menus each day. This means fresh food can go from the market to your table in just a few hours.

We had the most amazing cruise, fantastic from day one. To add to all these wonderful sights and experiences, we enjoyed superb service and fantastic cuisine.

Main dining

Each ship has a main dining room serving the very finest in British and international cuisine at breakfast, lunch and dinner. In these restaurants you can expect an ever-changing menu of sumptuous dishes, cooked by our team of expert chefs to the highest standard.

There is also a Grill restaurant on both ships, designed to give you the option of a more casual, relaxed and sociable culinary experience. Offering the same dinner menu as the main dining room in the evenings, The Grill serves an irresistible selection of buffet-style dishes at breakfast, along with a bespoke lunchtime menu.

Adjoining The Grill is the Verandah – a large outside space. Here you can enjoy the same dining choices, but alfresco with stunning ocean views. It’s also the perfect place to enjoy irresistible barbecues out on deck when the sun is shining.

Speciality dining

Deciding where to dine is all part of the boutique cruise experience, and our ships feature a selection of restaurants you can dine in - all free of charge - during your cruise.

Our speciality restaurants always prove popular, so reserving a table once you're on board is a must!

Spirit of Adventure has Khukuri House, the first Nepalese restaurant on the ocean wave, along with an Italian specialty restaurant, Amalfi, serving high-end Italian cuisine.

Spirit of Discovery features East to West, where our chefs bring to the table the full diversity and vibrancy of Eastern cuisine, from classic favourites to those with a contemporary twist. While Coast to Coast showcases fresh seafood cuisine.

Please note: As our speciality dining experience is a very popular part of our cruises, we may need to restrict the number of times you can dine in a speciality restaurant. For cruises of seven nights or less, we cannot guarantee you will be able to eat in the speciality restaurants more than once.

The speciality restaurants were impressive, of an extremely high standard, and on a par with any of the Michelin-starred restaurants in the UK.

Casual dining

Aboard Spirit of Discovery, The Club by Jools combines a steakhouse with first-class entertainment. Recalling the famous music lounges of the 1950s, it’s the place to enjoy cocktails and dining with live music – the perfect place to enjoy a post-dinner drink and see a whole host of talented guest musicians live.

Spirit of Adventure also has a popular Supper Club offering cabaret style evenings with delicious menu choices. Offering a mix of international dining, entertainment and dancing, it’s an intimate and exciting jazz club with its own ambience.

The food was out of this world. We tried all the different restaurants, and to be honest we couldn't say which one we preferred. All were top class in the choice, presentation and service, and so delicious.

Afternoon tea onboard Spirit of Adventure

Afternoon tea

Afternoon tea is a cruising tradition we take very seriously on board. Freshly-baked cakes, scones, sandwiches... all complimentary and served étagère-style at your table. Perhaps with a glass of fizz too? It’s elegant, it’s indulgent, and it’s what boutique cruising is all about.

Bars

Whether you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy a quiet drink, a cup of tea, or something more lively, there’s a range of bars available on around our boutique ships.

Our cruises are all inclusive, so all your drinks are included in the price. This includes a range of Premium spirits along with house wines, cocktails, and soft drinks.

Check out the different bars on both Spirit of Discovery and Spirit of Adventure.

Wellbeing

There are always lighter options available at every mealtime, in every restaurant. Vegetarian and vegan options are always readily available too.

And we understand the importance of healthy living, so we’ve made sure guests have access to all the wellbeing services they could need, including a fitness centre, spa and beauty salon along with daily activities such as deck walks and exercise classes.
