How our discounts work

On all cruises we set aside a number of cabins within each level at a discounted fare, with the highest discount of 35% for ocean cruises and 25% for river cruises available on selected levels. These cabins are sold on a first come, first served basis. As cabins are sold, the discount begins to reduce, and continues to reduce until those selected cabins are sold.

This means that the earlier you book, the higher the chance of securing a greater discount. Our price panels clearly show the full cruise price, along with the current discount fare.

Please note: During busy periods for holiday bookings, the early booking discount can reduce rapidly. We recommend that you book early to benefit from the best booking discounts and to secure your preferred cabin.

When promoting new cruises for the first time, we contact customers on our Advanced Registration list first, allowing then to secure the cabin of their choice and benefit from the best savings. Our brochures are then sent out to loyalty club members first, followed by past cruise goers and then everyone else.

Combine beautiful scenery with elegant cities

Enjoy a three-night stay at a locally rated 4-star hotel in Budapest before embarking on an eight night, all-inclusive river cruise in 2027 along the Danube. During your hotel stay a Saga Tour Manager will be on hand to help you make the most of your visit. Enjoy a visit to the Hungarian Parliament Building and explore the city independently using public transport and on foot. Perhaps visit the State Opera House, City Park and Vajdahunyad Castle. After boarding Spirit of the Lorelei, a coach tour will reveal both sides of Budapest. Then, cruise through the scenic Danube Bend to Esztergom, instantly recognisable by its large basilica. Venture inside Esztergom Basilica to see the altarpiece depicting the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, by Girolamo Michelangelo Grigoletti. Sail overnight to spend a full day in Slovakia’s capital Bratislava, where the cobbled old town is easily explored on foot.

Another overnight sailing provides a full day in Vienna. Austria’s capital is home to the waltz, coffee houses, the Prater wheel and one of the world’s finest opera houses. See some of the highlights, including the Ringstrasse and Opera House, then spend a morning sailing through the vineyard-clad vistas of the Wachau Valley on route to Melk. This historic town features architectural styles from across the centuries and an included guided tour takes you to Melk Abbey, a famous Baroque building founded in 1089. Sail overnight to Passau, with its towers, spires and red-roofed houses. A walking tour here reveals some key highlights such as the Gothic Town Hall and the city’s landmark, St Stephen’s Cathedral. Finally, continue overnight to the medieval city of Regensburg, a religious centre since the 7th century. See many examples of fine Romanesque and Gothic architecture in the UNESCO-listed old area during a walking tour.
