Day 1: UK to Trier. Travel to Trier to embark Amadeus Elegant.
Day 2: Trier to Piesport. Spend the morning in Trier, founded in 16BC by Emperor Augustus. Enjoy an included tour to see the Roman city gates, Porta Nigra. Your ship begins the journey along the Moselle shortly after lunch to arrive in Piesport later this afternoon.
Day 3: Piesport to Bernkastel-Kues. Cruise to Bernkastel-Kues mid morning, passing vineyards and villages along the way. An included walking tour will reveal the highlights.
Day 4: Bernkastel-Kues to Traben-Trarbach. Set sail for Traben-Trarbach this morning. Relax
on board as your ship glides past the vineyard-clad scenery of the Moselle. Traben-Trarbach has many art nouveau buildings, which you can see during an optional walking tour. Later, enjoy a wine tasting session on board your ship.
Day 5: Traben-Trarbach to Beilstein to Cochem. Enjoy a leisurely morning cruising to Beilstein. Stroll along
the riverfront, explore the lanes of half-timbered houses or perhaps have a closer look at the ruins of Metternich Castle. Depart for Cochem late this afternoon, arriving this evening.
Day 6: Cochem to Koblenz. This morning, take a tour of Reichsburg Castle, followed by a visit to a local winery on an optional excursion. Continue to Koblenz this afternoon, where the Moselle river meets the Rhine. Arrive in the evening.
Day 7: Koblenz to Boppard. This morning you can join an optional excursion to medieval Eltz Castle. After lunch, begin the journey along the Rhine. Pass through the Middle Rhine to arrive in Boppard this afternoon. Perhaps explore the town on an optional walking tour.
Day 8: Boppard to Rüdesheim. Following an early departure, cruise through the Middle Rhine to arrive in Rüdesheim this afternoon. Here, you can visit Siegfried’s Museum of Mechanical Music and enjoy wine tasting during an optional excursion.
Day 9: Rüdesheim to Mainz. Set sail this morning, arriving in Mainz during lunch. This afternoon you can join an optional guided tour of the city, home to a medieval cathedral and the Electoral Palace.
Day 10: Mainz to Mannheim. Spend a leisurely morning cruising the Rhine, passing fields, forests and towns to arrive in Mannheim in the early afternoon.
From here an included excursion visits Heidelberg.
Day 11: Mannheim to Speyer. Depart early to spend a full day in the Cathedral and Imperial City of Speyer. An optional walking tour is a great way to see some of the highlights, such as the UNESCO-listed cathedral. Amadeus Elegant begins the overnight journey towards Rastatt shortly before midnight.
Day 12: Rastatt to Strasbourg. Pause in Rastatt this morning for an optional excursion into the Black Forest. Your ship will continue to Strasbourg, arriving
this afternoon. From here an optional excursion visits Obernai.
Day 13: Strasbourg. Much of Strasbourg’s architecture is German in style, while
the ancient quarter of La Petite France
is a maze of narrow streets and medieval buildings, crossed by canals. Enjoy an included canal cruise this morning.
Depart later this afternoon.
Day 14: Basel. Basel sits at the meeting point of Switzerland, Germany and France. Spend the day exploring independently
or on an optional morning tour. Alternatively, see more of Switzerland
on an optional full-day excursion to the Bernese Oberland.
Day 15: Basel to UK.
Disembark Amadeus Elegant for your return flight.
