Day 1: UK to Arnhem. Travel to Arnhem, arriving this afternoon to embark Amadeus Elegant. Enjoy dinner on board. This evening your ship will begin the overnight journey to Cologne.
Day 2: Cologne to Königswinter.
This afternoon you’ll arrive in Cologne, Germany’s cultural capital. Enjoy an included sightseeing coach tour of the city, before setting o on a guided walking tour of the cobbled lanes and lively squares, such as the Alter Markt. This evening your ship will journey to Königswinter, arriving shortly before midnight.
Day 3: Königswinter to Andernach.
An optional excursion this morning
visits the ruins of Drachenfels Castle by Germany’s oldest rack and pinion train. Set sail at lunchtime bound for Andernach, where you can enjoy an optional excursion to see the cold water geyser this afternoon. Your ship remains moored in Andernach overnight.
Day 4: Andernach to Rüdesheim. Following an early departure from Andernach your ship will cruise through the photogenic scenery of the Middle Rhine, passing the steep Lorelei to
arrive in Rüdesheim early this afternoon. While here you can take a tour of the
town aboard the ‘WinzerExpress’, visit Siegfried’s Museum of Mechanical Music and enjoy a wine tasting during an optional excursion. Amadeus Elegant remains moored here overnight.
Day 5: Rüdesheim to Boppard to Koblenz. Set sail early this morning, arriving in Boppard with time to join an optional walking tour before lunch.
Explore the town’s Rheinallee waterfront promenade, and the Gothic Carmelite Church, famous for its 15th-century choir stalls. Early this afternoon you’ll continue your river cruise to Koblenz, arriving mid-afternoon. Meaning ‘merging of the rivers’, Koblenz’ rich history is reflected in a wealth of monuments and historic buildings. Explore further during an optional walking wine tour.
Day 6: Koblenz to Cochem. Enjoy the scenery along the Moselle as your ship departs Koblenz this morning and arrives in Cochem this afternoon. Perhaps take a tour of Reichsburg Castle, followed by a visit to a local winery for a sampling of regional white Rieslings on an optional excursion. Your ship remains moored in Cochem overnight.
Day 7: Cochem to Traben-Trarbach.
Set sail for Traben-Trarbach this morning. These twin villages straddle the Moselle and are known as the ‘capitals’ of the wine region. They’re home to many art nouveau buildings, which you can see during an optional walking tour. Later, look forward to a wine tasting session hosted by a local vineyard back on board your ship, which remains moored here overnight.
Day 8: Traben-Trarbach to Bernkastel-Kues. Amadeus Elegant cruises upstream to Bernkastel-Kues this morning, passing vineyards and riverside villages along the way. An optional excursion this afternoon includes a trip aboard the Bernkastel panorama train.
Day 9: Bernkastel-Kues to Piesport. This morning you continue along the scenic Moselle, passing vineyards and

picturesque towns that cling to the banks. During lunch you arrive in the historic village of Piesport, which enjoys a peaceful riverside setting backed by verdant countryside chequered with ancient vineyards.
Day 10: Piesport to Trier.
Depart Piesport this morning to spend an afternoon in Germany’s oldest city, Trier, founded in 16BC by Emperor Augustus.
It retains many relics of its illustrious past as you will discover on an included tour
to see the spectacular Porta Nigra, one of the best-preserved Roman city gates in the world, and the cathedral. Your ship remains moored here overnight.
Day 11: Trier to UK.
Disembark Amadeus Elegant after breakfast for your return journey.
