It's no wonder the 3-star Hotel Port Denia (4Q) is a popular choice with Saga guests and locals alike. When you're not soaking up some of the 300 days of sunshine a year, there's so much to see and do during holidays in Denia.
Experience a slice of authentic Spain in Denia, with its bustling harbour and 12th-century castle, and head further off the beaten track in nearby Mount Montgó Natural Park – its marked walking routes make finding your way easy. Plus, it’s exclusively available to Saga Denia holidays guests in the UK market.
Just had a fabulous holiday at the Hotel Port Denia again and will definitely be returning. Very comfy… excellent selection of food… full programme of daytime/evening activities, plus some interesting trips out. Travelled alone but met some lovely people and the staff are just fantastic – very special thanks go to Christine, Sue, Tom and Sheila.

There are a wealth of historic attractions within the town, including the Seu Cathedral, the Palace of the Marquis of Montortal and the Arco Palace. Just outside Xativa is the Cova Negra (Black Cave), where 30,000-year-old relics have been discovered. Valencia
This tour of Spain’s third-largest city starts with a visit to the Fallas Museum, where you will find out more about the history behind this great fiesta – the fallas themselves are huge papier-maché sculptures. Next is a visit to one of the biggest indoor markets in Spain, followed by a guided walk past the cathedral and basilica. After some free time for lunch, a final stop is made at the City of Arts and Science, where there is an opportunity to take photographs of the superb modern buildings and bridges. This excursion involves a fair amount of walking with a local guide.

Altea, Calpe and Sierra
Spend some time wandering round the charming old town of Altea, a web of cobbled, narrow and crooked streets lined with restaurants and shops affording glimpses of the bay.
Be sure to visit the church of La Mare de Déu del Consol — you can’t miss its beautiful blue and white domes, tiled with glazed ceramics. Perhaps enjoy a stroll along the lively seafront promenade before continuing to the historic fishing port of Calpe. Here, the 1,000-foot high Rock of Ifach, a historic surveillance point and visual navigation feature, is joined to the land by a narrow isthmus, neatly protecting the harbour.

Gandía
Situated on the southern tip of the Costa Azahar, or Orange Blossom Coast, Gandía is an affluent city renowned not just for its oranges but for being the former home of the Borjas – their palace is where St Francis Borja was born in 1510. The lifetime of Duke San Francisco Borja coincided with the golden age of the city and he went on to open colleges all over Spain and Europe.
On this half-day trip you’ll stay in the cultural and commercial centre rather than visit the coastal strip, allowing you to see some of the historical monuments and seek out the enticing shops along Gandía's wide tree-lined avenues as well as those tucked away in its narrow streets. You’ll also have time to independently explore the Palace of the Borjas if you choose (entrance is not included).
