An important city in the Middle Ages, W%u00fcrzburg features numerous baroque buildings erected by the prince-bishops of the Sch%u00f6nborn family in the 17th and 18th centuries. The Residence Palace was built here between 1720 and 1724 for the prince-bishop Johann Philipp Franz. An included excursion this morning visits the Residence Palace for a guided walking tour, followed by a walk through the historic city centre of W%u00fcrzburg in the company of a local guide. Sail overnight.Day 6: Wertheim, Germany. Arrive 0800. Depart 1400. Miltenberg, Germany.Arrive 1900. The charming town of Wertheim, once famous for glass production, has a medieval market square lined with colourful half-timbered buildings. Other sights include the Angel%u2019s Fountain, 13th-century Pointed Tower, Kittstein Gate and Wertheim Castle overlooking the town.Day 7: Miltenberg, Germany. Depart 1400.Miltenberg is set in the scenic Main valley, between the Odenwald and the Spessart Mountains. The oldest part of the city lies on the left bank of the Main below a wooded hill, crowned by a 13th-century castle. The old town, enclosed within ancient walls, is home to cobblestone streets of half-timbered houses and wine taverns. Sail overnight.Day 8: Mainz, Germany. Arrive 0800. UK.
