I am delighted to have been involved in the development of this itinerary which begins by visiting a new port of call for both me and Saga%u2019s Spirit ships, Melilla, a tiny Spanish enclave on Morocco%u2019s north African coast. Next, I plan to cruise into Valletta at sunrise for you to witness the incredible changing colours of the city. From here, we will cruise into the Adriatic Sea to visit Split. One of the main highlights here is the UNESCO-listed centre and Diocletian%u2019s Palace. Our next port of call is new to Saga Cruises, Opatija, which I refer to as the Monte Carlo of Croatia. It is an elegant town with grand hotels, well-maintained public gardens and a seven-mile coastal promenade. Next, we continue along the coast for an extended visit to Rijeka, close to the bay where I live. Rijeka, has an interesting mix of old and new architecture. It also o\Zagreb. Our next stop is at the island of Krk and its medieval walled capital, before we continue to Dubrovnik. March is the ideal time to explore this white stone city, away from the crowds of summer. Highlights include St Blaise%u2019s Church and Sponza Palace. Bidding a fond farewell to my homeland, we will cruise into the Bay of Kotor to explore the medieval town of the same name.
