Casablanca’s seafront is dominated by Hassan II Mosque with its 600-feet-tall minaret. From its 7th-century Berber origins to days under French colonial rule, Casablanca is a blend of European, North African and Arab influences. The lanes of the 19th-century medina are enclosed by whitewashed Moorish buildings that lead to the colonial downtown and the exotic spice and fruit stalls of the Central Market.
Included excursion
See some of the city’s highlights on an included excursion.
Optional excursions
Travel to the capital of Morocco and one of the country’s four imperial cities, Rabat, visit Rick’s cafe, or browse the stalls of Casablanca’s markets in the company of a guide for an authentic local experience.

Arrive 0800. Depart 1700.
The history of this Moroccan port on the Strait of Gibraltar, just 20 miles from the Spanish coast, goes back to the ancient Greeks and its beginnings are embedded in mythology. It is believed to have taken its name from Tingis, the daughter of Atlas, the mythical supporter of the Heavens. It was later ruled by the Romans and Arabs while Spain, Portugal, France and England also played important parts in the city’s diverse history. The city lies on a bay between two promontories and you can enjoy superb panoramic views if you head up to the ancient Kasbah, a former military fortress now full of elegant buildings and architecture while the Medina – the oldest part of town – is a warren of cobbled streets boasting a chronology of architectural styles charting the city’s colonial history. Perhaps sip a mint tea at a pavement cafe and watch the chaos of everyday life unfold around you.
Included excursion
Enjoy an included excursion in Tangier.
Optional excursions
Visit Tétouan, which lies at the foot of the Rif Mountains, and wander through the winding streets of its walled medina, A UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Arrive 0800. Depart 1900.
Named in Spanish after the reef that edges its shoreline, peaceful Arrecife has been the island’s capital since it took the title from nearby Teguise in 1852. This relatively sleepy port’s origins can be seen in the whitewashed fishermen cottages and 17th-century church set around the coastal lagoon of El Charco de San Gines. From Arrecife, you can discover the vast lava fields and crater-studded landscapes of Timanfaya National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Several nature reserves protect the unique ecosystems of its undeveloped volcanic interior, including Corralejo Nature Reserve. The capital, Santa Cruz, is set in a sweeping natural amphitheatre and was a hub for New World explorers and merchant traders during the Age of Exploration. Introduction To Casablanca - Included Excursion Option 1
A choice between two included excursions is offered during your visit to Casablanca – please select your place on just one of these excursions. It is not permitted to book both option 1 and option 2 and doing so will result in the automatic cancellation of one excursion.
Take an introductory drive around Casablanca, with a photo stop outside the Hassan II Mosque overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
Depart the pier and head towards the Hassan II Mosque a striking landmark – considered a masterpiece of contemporary Arab-Muslim architecture. The construction of the Mosque was a project initiated by the Moroccan ruler King Hassan II. A photo stop will be made here to marvel at the exterior, built at the water’s edge.
Afterwards, continue your panoramic drive around the city passing by the Notre Dame de Lourdes, a modernist Roman Catholic church built in the 1950’s by architect Achille Dangleterre. The drive continues to the resort area of Ain Diab, a stretch of coastline known as La Corniche. Here, you will make a short refreshment stop to sample some Moroccan mint tea.
Your tour concludes with a photo stop at Mohammad V Square before returning to the ship.
Additional Information
Please note: This is a coach-based excursion with most of the sightseeing taking place from your vehicle. At the photo stops and the refreshment stop there is an essential total walking distance of up to 300 yards. There are two steps at the refreshment venue, to use the restroom there are a further ten steps to negotiate. The Hassan II Mosque will only be viewed from the exterior. There is likely to be traffic congestion when travelling through the city and the tour may operate in a different order to than described. If you wish to explore Casablanca on foot, we recommend booking the alternative tour.

Introduction to Tangier - Included Excursion Option 1
Activity Level: Moderate Activity
A choice between two included excursions is offered during your visit to Tangier – please select your place on just one of these excursions. It is not permitted to book both option 1 and option 2 and doing so will result in the automatic cancellation of one excursion.
Take an introductory drive with a photo stop at Cap Spartel, a visit to St Andrew’s Church, and an opportunity to sip Moroccan tea.
Leave the pier and travel along the Corniche towards Cap Spartel. This promontory is located at the northernmost point of the African continent and features a lighthouse first lit in 1860 – still overwatching ships passing Tangier’s coast.
Pause here for a short photo stop, then head back towards Tangier to visit Saint Andrew’s church. This Anglican landmark was built on land gifted to Queen Victoria by Sultan Moulay Hassan I in 1883. Blending Moorish and English architecture, its interior is decorated with Arabic script and other biblical texts reflecting Tangier’s multicultural past.
Next, stop at Villa de France, a historic hotel once frequented by artists such as Henri Matisse. Here you will enjoy a traditional Moroccan tea or a fresh orange juice. Afterwards, continue to Marshan Square, to see a different side of Tangier, before returning to your ship.
Additional Information
Please note: There is an essential total walking distance of 600 yards over flat ground. Any further walking at any of the photo stops will be at your discretion. This tour does not visit the centre of Tangier or the medina. If you wish to explore Tangier on foot we recommend booking the alternative tour.

Tangiers Kasbah and Medina On Foot - Included Excursion Option 2
Activity Level: Strenuous Activity
A choice between two included excursions is offered during your visit to Tangier – please select your place on just one of these excursions. It is not permitted to book both option 1 and option 2 and doing so will result in the automatic cancellation of one excursion.
Discover Tangier’s Kasbah and Medina on this introductory walking tour. The Kasbah is one of the most iconic areas of Tangier, a historic fortified quarter perched above the city with sweeping views over the surrounding coastline.
A short coach transfer will bring you to the entrance of the Kasbah, from here you will head on foot with your guide. Your walk will take you uphill through the narrow streets of the Kasbah to see the old part of the city. As you descend back downhill, you will see the Grand Socco, a historic roundabout square linking the old medina to the new part of the city.
Continue your walk into the bustling Medina. Then you will pause for a Moroccan tea and pastry at Palais Zahia Riad, before returning to your ship by coach.
Additional Information
Please note: Expect to walk at least one-and-a-quarter miles. You must be physically fit to participate as the walk through the Kasbah is strenuous and the route may change on the day. The terrain in the medina will be uneven with cobblestones and steep inclines. Throughout the walk there will be many, frequent steps to negotiate (20 to 25 steps at a time). There will be three steps at the refreshment venue. The coach transfer will take approximately 20 minutes each way.

Snapshot of Lanzarote – Included Excursion Option 1
A choice between two included excursions is offered during your visit to Arrecife – please select your place on just one of these excursions. It is not permitted to book more than one, and doing so will result in the automatic cancellation of any additional excursion.
Enjoy a snapshot tour of Lanzarote to see Teguise, Caleta Famara Beach and Monumento al Campesino.
Travel from the pier inland to the historic town of Teguise, founded in the 15th century by the Conquistadors. On days when there is no market, you will be able to admire the beautifully restored houses and picturesque square.
Next, continue to Caleta Famara Beach, which Lanzarote artist César Manrique frequented as a child. A short photo stop will be made here, then the drive continues through the typical Canarian villages of Soo, La Santa, Tinajo, Tiagua and Mozaga as you make your way to your final stop at the Peasants’ Monument (Monumento al Campesino). The monument is 50-feet high and was created by Manrique in 1968 as a tribute to the work of the island’s peasant farmers.
Then it is time to head back ship.
Additional Information
Please note: This is a coach-based excursion with three short stops, each of which lasting approximately 20 minutes. There is up to 200 yards of essential walking on this tour, any further walking is at your discretion.

Highlights of Fuerteventura – Included Excursion Option 2
A choice between two included excursions is offered during your visit to Rosario – please select your place on just one of these excursions. It is not permitted to book more than one, and doing so will result in the automatic cancellation of any additional excursion.
Capture the highlights of Fuerteventura, including a visit to an Aloe Vera factory and the island’s former capital, Betancuria. Leaving the pier, travel by coach to the village of Tiscamanita for a visit to an Aloe Vera factory. Aloe Vera has long been one of the island’s most important crops, and here you will discover more about its many uses – with the opportunity to purchase local products if you wish.
Next, your journey continues to Betancuria, the island’s former capital. Founded in the early 15th century by Jean de Béthencourt, the town was strategically built in a valley to help protect it from pirate raids. Despite this precaution, it was attacked by pirates and destroyed in 1593. Whilst here, visit the small Archaeological Museum where you can learn more about the original inhabitants of Fuerteventura before rejoining your coach for the return drive back to the port.
Additional Information
Please note: Expect to walk at least 400 yards, which will be partly over uneven ground. There is a steep slope to negotiate in Betancuria. There are 20 steps at the Archaeological Museum. You will spend approximately one hour at the Aloe Vera Factory and 30 minutes at the Archaeological Museum. There are no opportunities to sit at the Aloe Vera Factory and the Archaeological Museum. Any further walking is at your discretion.

Snapshot of Northern Tenerife and La Laguna - Included Excursion Option 1
A choice between two included excursions is offered during your visit to Santa Cruz – please select your place on just one of these excursions. It is not permitted to book more than one, and doing so will result in the automatic cancellation of any additional excursion.
Enjoy time at leisure in La Laguna, a UNESCO World Heritage town, before driving through northern Tenerife, pausing at Humboldt viewpoint for a short photo stop.
Your tour begins with a drive through the main Santa Cruz avenue known as ‘Las Ramblas’, passing by the now disused bullring and Parque García Sanabria. You will have approximately 30 minutes here to explore the historic market in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, officially known as Mercado Municipal de La Laguna.
Afterwards, reboard your coach and head north, pausing at the Humboldt viewpoint for a short photo stop before returning to the ship.

Easy Teide – Included Excursion Option 2
A choice between two included excursions is offered during your visit to Santa Cruz – please select your place on just one of these excursions. It is not permitted to book more than one, and doing so will result in the automatic cancellation of any additional excursion.
Discover Tenerife’s most striking natural feature, Mount Teide, without the exertion of a demanding hike.
Your excursion begins with a drive to La Tarta viewpoint, where you will pause for a short photo stop. After passing through the photographic surroundings, journey south along the base of the mountain range, through pine forests and foothills to Teide National Park, declared a national park in 1954.
The park features an enormous volcanic crater measuring over 29 miles in circumference and within it is Mount Teide, rising to a height of 12,000 feet. It is the highest peak in Spanish territory and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The park is situated at an altitude of over one mile above sea level: in winter, snow and gale force winds often close roads through it; during the summer months, the arid landscape gives visitors the impression of having walked onto the set of a western movie and can reach temperatures of over 37°C.
At the heart of the crater, you visit the National Parador Visitors’ Centre and stand in the shadows of the majestic Roques de García. During the tour, a stop will also be made for a tea or coffee before returning to your ship in Santa Cruz.
Additional Information
Please note: Walking during this excursion is at your discretion but you should expect to walk at least 500 yards over some uneven surfaces, and there may be a considerable amount of standing. We recommend that you take an extra layer of clothing as temperatures towards the top of the mountain may be considerably colder than at sea level.

Scenic La Palma - Included Excursion
Activity Level: Panoramic Activity
Take in the highlights and views of La Palma on a scenic drive around the island.
Beginning from the pier in Santa Cruz de la Palma, your drive takes you firstly to the Mirador de la Concepcion, stopping for photos at this viewpoint before continuing to the Caldera de Taburiente. After pausing at the visitor centre, continue by coach to Mirador de La Cumbrecita, where you will stop for photos at the look out. The drive then continues to the western part of La Palma through Los Llanos de Aridane. Enjoy vistas of Los Llanos, surrounded by cacti and banana plantations, before returning to your ship via the town of El Paso.
Additional Information
Please note: This is a coach-based excursion with most of the sightseeing taking place from your vehicle. Any walking at short photo stops will be at your discretion. The drive involves travelling on steep, winding roads – vertigo sufferers should take this into consideration. Visibility from the viewpoints is dependent on the weather and therefore cannot be guaranteed.

Snapshot of Funchal - Included Excursion Option 1
Activity Level: Panoramic Activity
A choice between three included excursions is offered during your visit to Funchal – please select your place on just one of these excursions. It is not permitted to book more than one and doing so will result in the automatic cancellation of one excursion.

Your drive continues to your second photo stop at Pico dos Barcelos. This viewpoint offers a panoramic view of the coastline, surrounding hills and the city. Next, drive southwest, passing Câmara de Lobos, a picturesque fishing village, once painted by Sir Winston Churchill. Pause for a short photo at Pico da Torre viewpoint, which offers a view of the bay and the fishermen’s village below.
Having seen Funchal and its surroundings from three viewpoints, you head back to your ship.
Additional Information
Please note: This is primarily a coach-based excursion with three short photo stops, where walking will be at your discretion. Fire Mountain with Volcano BBQ
See Timanfaya National Park’s spectacular landscapes and enjoy a BBQ cooked by the volcano heat.
Frequently included in our list of ‘top quality-scoring tours’, Fire Mountain with Volcano BBQ is certainly something unique that we are confident you will enjoy. It is known as the ‘Island of Volcanoes’ for good reason: the landscape of Lanzarote is punctuated by over 300 volcanic cones overlooking blackened lava fields which were created between 1730 and 1736 when almost a third of the island was covered in lava. Even today, volcanic activity can be observed in Timanfaya National Park, and on this excursion your BBQ meal will be cooked using the very heat source that altered the island’s physical shape, as well as its agricultural and cultural identities.
Your tour vehicle leaves the port and, having passed through the whitewashed villages of Puerto del Carmen, Mache and Yaiza, arrives at the national park. From here you transfer to one of the national park’s coaches for a drive around the edges and slopes of the volcanoes.
Then, head to ‘El Diablo’, a restaurant offering a 360-degree panorama across the surrounding rugged landscape. Enjoy a volcano BBQ, cooked by the heat contained just below the surface, accompanied by red or white wine, soft drinks, beer or water, followed by ‘Bienmesable’ – a traditional Lanzarote dessert.
Afterwards, travel south for views across the geologically fascinating El Golfo and Los Hervideros, boasting caves and craters created by the flow of lava. See Janubio, where vegetables are grown in fields of lava pellets before arriving at one of La Geria’s wine cellars.
Finally, return to the ship.
Additional Information
Please note: This excursion involves walking approximately 350 yards with prolonged periods of standing: any additional walking is at your discretion. Walking may be exceptionally uneven if negotiating volcanic rock. This area is a very popular tourist attraction, which could result in delays entering the national park. Read moreHow our discounts work
On all cruises we set aside a number of cabins within each level at a discounted fare, with the highest discount of 35% for ocean cruises and 25% for river cruises available on selected levels. These cabins are sold on a first come, first served basis. As cabins are sold, the discount begins to reduce, and continues to reduce until those selected cabins are sold.
This means that the earlier you book, the higher the chance of securing a greater discount. Our price panels clearly show the full cruise price, along with the current discount fare.
Please note: During busy periods for holiday bookings, the early booking discount can reduce rapidly. We recommend that you book early to benefit from the best booking discounts and to secure your preferred cabin.
When promoting new cruises for the first time, we contact customers on our Advanced Registration list first, allowing then to secure the cabin of their choice and benefit from the best savings. Our brochures are then sent out to loyalty club members first, followed by past cruise goers and then everyone else.
