The world may be changing, but at Saga we are still determined to create amazing experiences for all our guests who are dreaming of travelling with us again soon. And even though the landscape of travel is continually changing, your safety and that of our colleagues will always be of paramount importance.

Saga’s Reassurance Promise has been created to make sure you feel safe and secure when you choose a holiday or river cruise with us. Even though travel is on pause for the moment, we want you to feel confident planning your next adventure with us.

We also want to reassure you that, even though there may be small differences to the way we travel, it will not impact on the overall experience. From ensuring we have a safe and clean environment throughout, to adhering to social distancing measures, we will continually monitor the situation to make sure you have a hassle-free holiday.

Our Reassurance Promise includes:

A safe and friendly reception

Before your holiday we may need to contact you to confirm all travellers are fit to travel and ready for your upcoming trip. Meanwhile, on holidays that include our VIP-door-to-door travel service, guests will be picked up by fully-trained drivers who will be following the latest health and safety guidelines.

Supporting your health and wellbeing

We will be following government and local health advice on the issue of wearing face coverings. Whilst we will endeavour to have a supply, our recommendation is that all guests come equipped with their own face coverings and hand sanitisers because these may be a requirement during certain points of your holiday. We will also ensure safe distances where feasible, whether this is out on excursions or exploring local areas.

Elsewhere, our tour managers, cruise hosts and guides will be fully-trained, adhering to local regulations and making sure their groups will follow these. And of course, be on hand to assist should any of our guests feel unwell. From limiting seat rotation on our coaches, to developing and expanding our range of small-group tours, we want to guarantee guest peace of mind.

Our commitment to cleanliness

Providing a clean environment for our guests is paramount. Our VIP drivers will make sure their vehicles are sanitised and spotless for your journey to and from the airport, while all our coaches will be thoroughly cleansed and disinfected at least once a day. Meanwhile, all our hotels and river cruise ships will adhere to strict cleaning measures in both the rooms and in public areas and have to obey all new COVID-19 health and safety requirements before we send Saga guests.

We are always committed to teaming up with like-minded and trusted partners who share our core values. Our chosen airline carriers, hotels, local guides, coach operators, excursion teams and river cruising partners, will also have to follow strict safety procedures while Saga guests are travelling with them. Our award winning holidays and cruises now offer more peace of mind: Our optional included travel insurance for over 50’s is on all overseas holidays and includes up to £5m emergency medical and repatriation cover for coronavirus. Underwritten by Great Lakes. Subject to medical screening, and a price reduction if insurance not required.

We provide flexible cancellation cover should you need to cancel due to coronavirus medical conditions prior to departure. This cover is available under our additional cancellation rights cover if you purchase our optional travel insurance. Applies to all overseas holidays.
