Your contemporary accommodation (although not all rooms) overlooks the Niagara River and Horseshoe Falls and is perfectly situated to explore independently, buy yourself some dinner and experience the roar of the falls this evening. The hotel’s facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, gift shop (seasonal) and free Wi-Fi. Each of the 232 bedrooms feature a television, hairdryer, coffee-making facilities and free Wi-Fi.
Day 2 Niagara Falls
Today you’ll experience the power of Canada’s most iconic attraction up close as you cruise the Niagara River to the foot of the Falls. The cruise takes you past the base of the America Falls and then into the plunge pool of the most powerful waterfall of the trio, Horseshoe Falls. Around 2,271,247 litres of water per second thunder over this 167-foot drop and your boat slides into its mist storm and churning chaotic pool. Return to land, perhaps a little wetter than when you set out, and explore the city of Niagara Falls independently. For a bird’s-eye view of the falls perhaps treat yourself to a helicopter ride over them, or join one of the many walking tours into its mists. This evening is at leisure. As darkness descends a light show paints the falls with a myriad of bright colours, so remember to take your camera with you. B
Day 3 Niagara Falls-New York
This morning, set out on a drive of around seven-and-a-half hours to New York State, a journey through stunning scenery broken up by rest stops. On arrival in New York State you’ll visit the Corning Glass Museum to see some of the 45,000 glass objects that cover 3,500 years of glassmaking. You can also watch master craftsmen create new glass objects and discover innovations in glass that have changed the world. Later, check into the locally rated 4-star Holiday Inn NYC Times Square, in the heart of the Big Apple, for a three-night stay. This evening is at leisure so perhaps explore the city’s plethora of eateries and maybe catch a show.
