Day 2 Banff to Lake Louise

This morning we board our coach for a tour through the surrounding area of Banff and its lakes. We visit the most famous of Canada’s many lakes: Lake Louise.

There is time to take an optional gondola ride or relax at the historic Chateau Lake Louise, a luxury hotel dating back as far as 1911.

This evening you’re free to dine in one of the many restaurants in town.

Day 3 Columbia Icefield to Jasper

Today we head northwards through the Rockies to Jasper, with some fantastic scenery and possible wildlife sightings along the way.

We stop at the Columbia Icefield and take an included Ice Explorer ride on to the surface of the Athabasca Glacier (subject to weather conditions). Your journey is led by an experienced driver/guide, who shares a wealth of fascinating information about glaciers, icefields and their impact on our environment. There is also the opportunity to step out onto the glacier and stand on this ancient ice.

We continue on to the charming town of Jasper.

Day 4 Jasper

This morning we board our coach for an unforgettable sightseeing journey that begins with the limestone gorge of Maligne Canyon and continues along the shore of Medicine Lake, rushing Maligne River and one of the most photographed spots in the world, the magnificent Maligne Lake.

This evening we enjoy an included dinner with an interpretative talk.

Day 5 Rocky Mountaineer (Jasper to Quesnel)

Our Rocky Mountaineer journey begins early this morning as we board the train for the Rainforest to Gold Rush route.

We’ll pass magnificent Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies at 12,972 feet, and enter the Rocky Mountain Trench, where the Rocky Mountains rise steeply to the north and the Cariboo Mountains soar to the south.

We continue west through the forests of northern British Columbia and arrive into Quesnel this evening.

Day 6 Rocky Mountaineer (Quesnel to Whistler)

An early start this morning to continue our travels, enjoying some of the most breathtaking and varied scenery found anywhere in the world.

As we leave Quesnel, we travel through the vast rangelands of the Cariboo Plateau and the desert-like conditions of the Fraser Canyon, before passing the stunning lakeshores of Seton and Anderson Lakes.

Our destination today is the delightful mountain resort of Whistler.
