Roman walls, medieval Rows, Tudor houses and fabulous shopping...

Just oozing with historic charm, the jumble of half-timbered buildings that characterise Chester scream of the Tudor period. An included guided walk will introduce you to them, along with many other nearby attractions you can visit during your stay here. Chester began life as a Roman fortress, and the walls that defended it have grown over the centuries and now almost completely encircle the city's historic core. Stroll along their length, enjoy an afternoon of shopping at the curious 'double-decker' arcades of the Chester Rows, visit the imposing cathedral, or see the ruined Roman amphitheatre. You've also got famous Chester Zoo, plenty of great shopping and a vibrant cafe culture right on your doorstep. There's plenty to see outside the city too, from medieval castles to Tudor manor houses, plus Liverpool is only 20 miles up the road!
