The hotel prides itself on its food, and during your stay you’ll be able to enjoy an included cookery demonstration – a great way to take a taste of Spain back to your own kitchen. As the chef cooks up a storm, you’ll be able to taste a selection of wine from the area, each carefully selected by the hotel’s owner, Felipe.

Santander’s bustling market is the main source of quality ingredients for the region’s restaurants and your visit is sure to be a treat for all your senses. Cantabrian anchovies are renowned as being some of the best in the world, and this afternoon you get the chance to enjoy a tasting and find out why. You will also try your hand at preparing the salted fish ready for canning – and learn why its easier said than done!
Join Head Chef Rodrigo in the kitchens and try your hand at preparing some of the tapas dishes and 'pintxos' that are served each lunchtime at the hotel, perhaps enjoying a glass of wine along the way…

Visit the beautiful Valley of the River Pas in the Cantabrian mountains, famous in Spain for its highly prized butter, milk and cheese.
Enjoy a guided visit to a local cheese factory and taste the renowned 'Quesos de la Jaradilla'. Later you will tour a factory that produces 'Sobao' cakes which, as you will discover, go particularly well with a good Spanish coffee!

Visit a family run bodega in Haro and enjoy a tasting and lunch.
The Sierra Cantabria Bodegas are pioneers in Rioja of production of wine using only grapes from the same estate which although common in France is not usual in the Rioja region. Enjoy tastings at two bodegas and learn the difference between wines originating from the different vines that grow in La Rioja.
Enjoy a tapas lunch before returning to Santoña.
Visit a lobster nursery in the Cantabrian Sea that is over 100 years old.
Later, join head chef Rodrigo in the kitchens to learn some traditional Spanish recipes and the best accompanying white wines before enjoying a selection of the finest Cantabrian lobster, crab and crayfish for dinner.
