Day 1 UK to Barcelona to Roses
Fly to Barcelona and transfer to the charming town of Roses, where you’ll stay for the next seven nights. Roses lies in a natural bay to the north of the Costa Brava and has a rich maritime heritage that dates from antiquity. Today, the town is home to a large fishing fleet, and is best know for its delightful Blue Flag sand beaches. The beachfront promenade is the perfect place for an evening stroll, and there’s a choice of shops and restaurants to discover too. Venture beyond the town and you’ll find some archaeological sites, as well as the natural parks of Marismas del Ampurdan and the Cabo de Creus park.
Your hotel will be the locally rated 3-star Prestige Hotel Coral Platja (3Q), which is situated on the town’s seafront beside Santa Margarida Beach, and is just 350 yards from the town centre. Facilities at the hotel include a restaurant, cafe, outdoor and indoor swimming pools. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. All 167 air-conditioned bedrooms have a television, telephone, hairdryer and safe (extra charge).
There will be a welcome dinner hosted by your Saga Host tonight, an excellent opportunity to meet your fellow guests. D
Day 2 Cadaqués
After breakfast you’ll take a short walk from the hotel to Port Castell Santa Margarida, which is approximately 1.7 kilometres away.
Here you’ll step aboard your boat for a delightful hour-long cruise to the village of Cadaqués. You’ll also be able to admire the surrounding landscape, which has inspired artists such as Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali. There will be a little free time to explore further, before you hop aboard your boat for the return trip to Roses.
