Explore Catalonia from a different perspective as you enjoy four boat trips, starting with a coastal cruise to the fishing village of Cadaqués. Day 1 UK-Barcelona-Santa Susanna

Fly to Barcelona and transfer to the resort of Santa Susanna (46 miles, one hour and 15 minutes). Stay two nights at the 4-star Hotel Florida Park (3Q+). Your hotel is situated 100 yards from the beach and level seafront promenade, and one mile from the centre of Santa Susanna old town. D


Day 2 Barcelona

Gothic Quarter Barcelona

This morning, drive to Barcelona. This famous city has a host of attractions ranging from the architect Anton Gaudi’s famous Sagrada Familia and Park Güell, to the tree-lined La Rambla with its cafes and shops, and the old Gothic quarter. 

Look forward to a boat trip exploring the harbour of Barcelona, and learn about the history and importance of the port, and see the city’s highlights including the Maremagnum, the Sagrada Familia, the Olympic Port, the Hotel Arts and Mapfre Tower form the water. 

Afterwards, enjoy a guided walking tour of the historic Gothic Quarter and some time to explore the city independently. B, D


Day 3 Santa Susanna-Roses

Transfer from Santa Susanna to the town of Roses (63 miles, one hour and 45 minutes). Here you’ll stay five nights at the 3-star Prestige Hotel Coral Platja (3Q). Your hotel is situated on the seafront, next to Santa Margarida Beach and just 350 yards from the town centre. B, D


Day 4 Cadaques

Cadaques

After a short walk to Port Castell Santa Margarida, a mile away, set off on an included hour-long boat trip this morning to the village of Cadques.

Once ashore, a guided tour explores Cadaques, with its enchanting old town of cobbled streets and hilltop church with a magnificent gilded altarpiece. The beautiful landscape here led to it being popular with artists including Picasso and Salvador Dali, who stayed here as a child. After a little free time to explore further, step aboard your boat and return to Roses, with the afternoon at leisure. B, D


Day 5 Canal du Midi

Canaldu Midi

Travel to Beziers in France this morning in the company of your guide.

On arrival join your boat for a cruise along the Canal du Midi with lunch included. See the famous ‘staircase’ locks of Fonserances, the 17th century Malpas tunnel and more as you discover part of this 150-mile long canal constructed in the 17th century. Afterwards, return to your hotel by coach. B, L, D


Day 6 Besalu and Banyoles

Banyoles Lake

This morning enjoy a tour of the medieval town of Besalu with its cobbled streets lined with early houses, 12th-century fortified bridge, churches and more. Travel south to the town of Banyoles by coach, where a 40-minute boat trip on the Lake of Banyoles awaits you. This large natural lake with its mountain backdrop to the north is the largest in Catalonia. B, D


Day 7 Roses

Roses Spain

Enjoy today at leisure. Perhaps relax at your hotel, visit the beach or stroll into the town of Roses with its shops and restaurants, around 350 yards away. B, D


Day 8 Barcelona-UK

Transfer to the airport (105 miles, two hours and 30 minutes), for your return flight to the UK. B
