A stunningly beautiful lake, more than 30 miles long and partially enclosed by mountains
Imagine shores dotted with olive and lemon groves and cypress trees, basking in a mild climate...
This is Lake Garda - the largest of the Italian lakes. With scenery ranging from cliffs and the Dolomite mountains in the north, to gentler lands lying south, it has inspired such writers as D H Lawrence who described it as "paradise".
At the southernmost tip of this famous lake lies the small bustling town of Peschiera del Garda. With its canals and old town enclosed by fortifications, it provides a great base from which to enjoy the scenic beauty of Lake Garda or explore further afield.
