Your hotel is positioned overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in Limassol Bay, on Cyprus’s southern coast. The distance to Paphos Airport is approximately 40 miles, and to Larnaca it is a similar distance. To reach Limassol’s historic centre, it is a ten-minute drive or an hour’s walk, covering a distance of three miles. There is a pleasant promenade that runs alongside the beach towards Limassol Marina and the city’s historic centre.
With a core full of character and an eastern resort area that has been popular with holidaymakers for decades, Limassol offers visitors a little bit of history, a lot of modern comfort and access to many of the island’s must-see attractions - such as Paphos’s captivating necropolis. It was at Limassol Castle that Lionhearted King Richard I of England married Queen Berengaria following his impromptu invasion of Cyprus on the monarch’s way to the Holy Land in 1191.

Recently restored through the European LIFE Conservation Project, Oroklini Lake provides an ideal nesting site for many migratory birds. Following a transfer, this wetland is also a picturesque starting point for your cycling holiday. Leaving the lake and heading south, you will reach the beach of Voroklini. From there, the route follows the coastal cycle path along the beautiful seafront of Larnaca bay. Pass Larnaka Marina and follow its palm-lined promenade. You will then arrive at the city’s medieval Castle. It is a short distance to today’s finishing point, the Church of Agios Lazaros. B, L, D

Surfaces: Asphalt roads and cycle paths
Distance: Twenty miles
Begin with a transfer to the Kamares Aqueduct, built in an eye-catching Roman style during the 18th century. The aqueduct carried water to Larnaca from a source six miles away for almost two hundred years until it was replaced by modern pipes in 1939. Your next wonder is a natural one – Larnaca Salt Lake, a popular haunt for approximately 85 species of bird. Your finishing point is the Hala Sultan Tekke Mosque.
