The hotel combines the elegance of neo-Victorian architecture with traditional hospitality. A Saga representative is available on a daily basis to help you plan your time in Cape Town.
Rovos Rail's Pride of Africa
2 nights post-extension, full board including local beverages.
Travelling aboard the Pride of Africa is one of the African continent's classic travel experiences. The Pride of Africa uses authentic, historic rolling-stock, some of which is over 60 years old. Air conditioning has been fitted throughout the train and public areas and suites have been tastefully decorated to reflect the opulence of the 1920s era. Meals are freshly prepared by on-board chefs and served in the dining car, along with a selection of complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. While there will be no official Saga representative on board, a number of Rovos Rail staff have been trained to act as your Saga representative for the duration of your train journey. The train carries a maximum of 72 passengers staying on board in suites consisting of double or twin beds and en suite bathroom with a shower. Regretfully, the train corridors are too narrow for the use of standard wheelchairs and large walking aids. As Rovos Rail relies on Southern Africa’s National Railways for the use of their locomotives, journeys can sometimes be unavoidably delayed.

Depart from Cape Town Station. Freshen up in your suite before joining other guests in the midway Lounge car or the Observation carriage.
