Day 1  UK-Mauritius

Take your included VIP door-to-door travel service to the airport and fly overnight to Mauritius.


Day 2 Bel Ombre

Tamassa, An All Inclusive Resort

Transfer to Bel Ombre (23 miles, one hour) Stay five nights at the 4-star Tamassa, An All Inclusive Resort (4Q+). Your hotel is located on the beach, surrounded by mountainous landscapes and sugarcane fields.

Facilities include two restaurants, bar, lounge, four swimming pools, boutique, library, and a spa with a gym. Guest rooms are in villa-style buildings with a balcony or terrace, satellite television, free Wi-Fi, telephone, tea and coffee-making facilities, hairdryer, bathrobes, safe and a minibar. The free bar is open from 11am to midnight and serves local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. L, D


Day 3 South Mauritius

Grand Bassin

Visit the sacred Lake of Grand Bassin, admire Chamarel Waterfalls and enjoy a tour and tasting in a rum distillery on today's included excursion. B,L,D


Day 4 Mahebourg

Enjoy a scenic drive this morning to Mahebourg to see the Naval Museum in a beautiful 18th-century Creole mansion, and visit a family-run cassava biscuit producer. Optional excursion to Trou aux Cerfs and Curepipe. B, L, D

Day 5 The tea route

Tea planation

This morning join an included half-day tour to delve into the island's tea history! Explore Domaine des Aubineaux – a tea plantation, and a museum and a rum distillery. B, L, D 


Day 6 Bel Ombre

Bel Ombre beach, Mauritius

Enjoy a day at leisure or perhaps go on an optional dolphin-watching trip or optional visit to Casela Nature Park. B, L, D.



Optional excursions

This is a chance to cruise along the west coast and go sightseeing from a different perspective. Board a catamaran at La Carangue and sail towards the open sea on the lookout for dolphins. There will be time to go swimming and snorkelling. A barbecue lunch will be served on board.

Dolphin watching

The beautiful Casela Nature Park enjoys a hilltop location and is home to hundreds of species of birds, including the extremely rare pink pigeon. You may also see other animals such as giant tortoises, tigers, monkeys, lemurs and fruit bats. The view from the hill stretches far and wide across to the island’s south-western coast.

Visit Trou aux Cerfs, a dormant volcano located near Curepipe, in the centre of Mauritius. The summit is easily accessible and from the path that circles the 350-metre wide crater, you can enjoy panoramic views across the island. You also have the chance to shop in the boutiques and arcades of the town of Curepipe. 

Day 7 Bel Ombre-Souillac-Turtle Bay

Visit the historic village of Souillac and a garden developed by the Irish botanist Charles Telfair. Travel north to Turtle Bay (50 miles, 90 minutes). Stay five nights at the 5-star InterContinental Mauritius Resort (4Q+).

Your hotel is located within the boundary of the exclusive Balaclava Bay. The resort overlooks a white sandy beach and is situated within tropical gardens. Facilities include a choice of restaurants and bars, two swimming pool, and a spa. Each of the 210 air-conditioned bedrooms are equipped with a television, telephone, tea and coffee-making facilities, safe and free Wi-Fi. B, L, D


Day 8 Turtle Bay

Explore the tropical gardens around your hotel and relax as look over the Indian ocean. Alternatively, you might like to join an optional cruise along the north shores of the island or venture on an optional underwater safari. B, L, D



Optional excursions

Board a catamaran for an unforgettable experience of sailing towards open sea. Relax on board, look out for dolphins, and feel the cool sea breeze as you sail through the turquoise ocean. There will be free time for swimming and snorkelling and a barbecue lunch will be served on board.

Enjoy a catamaran cruise

For this amazing experience, you are taken to the beach at Trou aux Biches and fitted with a helmet and diving weights. You'll then be escorted on a walk along the seabed, about two-and-a-half metres below the surface! This is a wonderful opportunity, even for non-divers, to see some of the fascinating marine life that inhabits the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.

Admire the flora at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Pamplemousse and afterwards, head to the Sugar Adventure Museum which is housed in an old sugar factory. The afternoon is at leisure. B, L, D

Day 10 Cap Malheureux

Cap Malheureux

Visit dramatic Cap Malheureux at the northernmost tip of the island and the Historic Marine model ship factory, where craftsmen create miniature ships. You will also have some spare time to explore the market of Grand Baie. B, L, D

Day 11 Turtle Bay

Enjoy the hotel facilities or join an optional half-day tour of the capital, Port Louis. B,L,D



Optional excursions

Enjoy time exploring the capital and main port of the island, bordering the Indian Ocean. Port Louis was already in use as a harbour in 1638 but in 1735, under French rule, it became the administrative centre of the island, named in honour of King Louis XV. The French used it to supply essential provisions to ships travelling around the Cape of Good Hope.

Port Louis has many historic buildings, including Fort Adelaide, a hilltop citadel built by the British in the early 18th century, and the only intact survivor of four British forts from this period. Other attractions include the Caudan Waterfront, the bazaar, Chinatown and the old Port Louis theatre. The striking Jummah Mosque is in the Chinese Quarter, while ornate Tamil temples, such as Kaliammen Kovil and Saint-Croix, overlook the port.

Day 12 Turtle Bay-Belle Mare

Travel to Belle Mare (25 miles, one hour) stopping for a typical Mauritian lunch at a private house. Stay four nights at the 5-star Long Beach Mauritius (5Q) on an all-inclusive basis.

The hotel is set in a resort with lush tropical gardens and offers five restaurants, two bars, three outdoor pools, free Wi-Fi and a spa. Each of the hotel’s 255 air-conditioned rooms, feature a balcony or terrace, television, telephone, minibar (extra charge), coffee-making facilities, telephone, hairdryer, and safe. B, L, D

Day 15 La Vallée de Ferney Nature Reserve

La Vallee de Ferney Nature Reserve

Nestled within Bambous Mountains, La Vallée de Ferney Nature Reserve consists of 200 hectares of preserved native forest. Enjoy an included walk through the forest before visiting a small coffee museum within the grounds of a sugar estate.

The walk will include steps and steep inclines so you'll need a good level of fitness, but it will reward you with magnificent views of the south-east and spectacular views of Grand Port Bay and offshore.

Return to your hotel for lunch and an afternoon at leisure. B, L, D


Day 16 Mauritius to UK

Travel to the airport for your overnight flight home (37 miles, 70 minutes). B
