Day 1 UK to Victoria Falls
After taking Saga’s included UK door-to-door travel service, fly overnight to Victoria Falls.
Day 2 Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Travel to the locally rated 4-star Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, bordering the Zambezi National Park and just four kilometres from Victoria Falls, where you'll stay for three nights. D
Board the Royal Livingstone Express for a unique fine dining experience, as the train carries you through the Mosi-Oa-Tunya wildlife park. Enjoy a late afternoon ride through the reserve. As the sun sets you’ll be invited to dine in one of the authentic 1930s dining carriages, where a five-course meal will be served. Drinks and other refreshments will also be available throughout. This train uses authentic heritage railway equipment consisting of a steam engine dating from the 1920s and lovingly-restored, air-conditioned carriages from the 1930s.
Day 3 Victoria Falls and Sundowner Cruise
Join an included guided walk beside the falls, pausing at the best viewpoints. This evening, you may glimpse hippos and other wildlife during an included sundowner cruise. B, D
Day 4 Mpisi Village
Visit Mpisi Village to glimpse how people have lived for generations, and learn about their traditional customs.
Day 5 Victoria Falls-Kasane
Cross the border into Botswana and travel to Kasane for seven nights at the locally rated 4-star Chobe Safari Lodge. Set on the banks of the Chobe River at the edge of Chobe National Park, this lodge offers a real close-to-nature experience and you may spot crocodiles, hippos, monkeys and countless species of birds just moments away from your accommodation – the park is not fenced, so you can observe the wildlife wandering freely. Rooms are in thatched buildings overlooking the gardens, are air conditioned and have ceiling fans, a television, telephone, hairdryer, tea and coffee-making facilities and a safe. House wine is included with dinner. B,D
Day 6 Chobe National Park
Enjoy your first included game drive through Chobe National Park, where you may encounter large herds of elephants, lions, Cape buffalo, and many species of antelope. B, D
Day 7 Chobe River Cruise
View the wildlife of Chobe such as crocodiles and hippos on this morning’s included river cruise. B, D
Day 8 Flightseeing tour
Today’s included light aircraft flight follows the course of the Zambezi River and returns via the stunning landscapes of Chobe National Park, allowing you to view the wildlife from a unique perspective. B, D
Day 9 Chobe National Park
Enjoy a further day viewing game on an included river cruise and game drive which will take you deeper into the park. B, D
Day 10 Okavango Delta
Join a thrilling optional excursion to the marshes of the Okavango Delta and view the wildlife from a traditional-style ‘mokoro’ canoe. B, D
Travel by plane to one of the remotest parts of Africa. The Okavango Delta is one of the world's largest inland water systems, a unique oasis in the centre of the Kalahari desert. There are two distinct areas – the permanent swamp that is inundated with water all year round, and the seasonal swamp that is flooded annually and dries gradually with the onset of summer in October. As water is always a magnet to wildlife, there's a rich variety of species you may see here, including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo and antelope as well as many smaller animals.
Day 11 Chobe National Park
Join an included early morning game drive through Chobe and perhaps an optional boat cruise or fishing trip. available from the Chobe Safari Lodge. The resort staff will be happy to provide full details. B, D
Day 12 Livingstone to the UK
Travel to Livingstone Airport this morning for your return overnight flight to the UK. B
Day 13 UK
Arrive this morning for your included UK door-to-door travel service home.
Half-board pre-tour extension
Before your tour, stay three nights at the contemporary, locally rated 4-star SunSquare Cape Town City Bowl Hotel.
Departures in 2020 will stay instead at the locally rated 4-star Southern Sun, The Cullinan hotel. Alternatively, upgrade to the elegant locally rated 4-star Table Bay Hotel, set in the heart of Cape Town's Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, for a supplement (including breakfasts only).
After your tour, spend one night at Gorges Lodge in Victoria Falls, before transferring by road to the Camelthorn Lodge at Hwange for a three night stay, on an all-inclusive basis throughout.
