Budapest is a city made up of two parts: Buda and Pest, built on opposite banks of the Danube and very different in character. East meets west in this fascinating city, and this can be seen in the variety of shops and restaurants. This morning an included city sightseeing tour reveals the capital's highlights, including the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Buda Castle, Matthias Church and Fisherman's Bastion. This afternoon, your ship departs, cruising towards Bratislava.

Spend the morning exploring the capital of Slovakia. The old town is easily explored on foot. Stroll through ancient cobbled streets to Bratislava Castle for a bird’s-eye view of the city and see the Gothic-style cathedral, where 11 Kings of Hungary were crowned. Alternatively perhaps join an optional guided walking tour of the city. Sail from Bratislava around midday and arrive in Vienna during dinner, with the chance to attend a concert on an optional excursion this evening.

Vienna is the artistic capital of Austria: home to the waltz, coffee houses, the Prater amusement park and one of the world's finest opera houses. It is the city where Marie-Antoinette grew up and where Mozart died, and for 600 years was the centre of the Hapsburg Empire. An included tour reveals the highlights including the Ringstrasse and Opera House.
Sail to Dürnstein this afternoon and moor overnight.

Durnstein is one of the most picturesque towns on the Danube River and Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned here in Kuenringer Castle during the late 12th century. You may like to take a morning stroll and view the castle ruins towering over the town before your ship sets sail again late morning. Cruise through the scenic Wachau Valley to Melk and perhaps visit the impressive Benedictine Abbey on an optional excursion this afternoon.

This afternoon you arrive in elegant Passau, a frontier city at the confluence of the Inn, Ilz and Danube rivers. The oldest part of the town stands on a narrow tongue of land between the Inn and the Danube. During the Middle Ages, its prince-bishops had authority over Vienna and the entire Austrian Danube valley. Perhaps join an optional guided city walk. Depart later and sail overnight to Regensburg.
05/11/2020 Regensburg to Kelheim 🎧

Spend the morning in the lovely old city of Regensburg. Explore independently or join a brief walking tour and discover its 2,000-year history. An optional excursion this afternoon visits Weltenburg Abbey. Amadeus Royal remains moored in Regensburg until after lunch when she continues west, joining the River Altmühl and the Main-Danube Canal at Kelheim, where she'll pause to collect excursion participants, before cruising towards Nuremberg.

Your ship moors in Nuremberg for the day. Disembark for join an included excursion to see the major sights of this historic Bavarian city that span its medieval beginnings through to the present. Long famous for the manufacture of toys, Nuremberg achieved infamy in the 20th century as the setting for the notorious Nazi rallies, and later, for the war crimes trials of 1945-46. Depart Nuremberg early this evening and cruise towards Bamberg.

Moor in Bamberg early this morning. The UNESCO World Heritage-listed city is one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Germany, with quaint streets full of delightful old buildings. Take in the highlights on an optional tour. Leave Bamberg this evening and cruise the River Main through the night to Würzburg.

Spend the afternoon in the centre of Franconia's wine industry. An optional guided tour uncovers the impressive Residenz Palace.

This ancient town has an attractive location on the banks of the Main. Explore Miltenberg's old town with its 13th-century castle, timber-framed houses and wine taverns this afternoon or perhaps join an optional brewery visit before departing late this afternoon.

An optional excursion visits Siegfried's Museum of Mechanical Music in Rüdesheim, or you could take the opportunity to enjoy a wine tasting at a local winery. Otherwise take a look around this picturesque town in the heart of the Rhineland's wine-producing region independently. Arrive in Koblenz late this afternoon.

Spend the morning in Cologne and perhaps explore the oldest part of the city, including the Impressive Gothic cathedral. Depart for Amsterdam during lunch.

During a full day in the city, admire Amsterdam's network of historic canals, see the house where Anne Frank and her family hid, and take in the bustling cafe culture of this colourful capital. Or join an optional morning coach tour and canal cruise or an afternoon excursion visiting Volendam, Edam and Katwoude Cheese Farm. Enjoy a farewell dinner on board this evening.
