Day 1 UK to Hamburg to Kiel

Fly to Hamburg and transfer to Kiel where you embark your ship. Enjoy a welcome reception and dinner. Remain moored in Kiel overnight.

Day 2 Kiel


Spend the morning exploring Kiel.  The city is dominated by the grand harbour, as you’ll discover on an included tour. Afterwards perhaps stroll along the waterfront promenade, perhaps pausing in a cafe or coffee shop and enjoying views of ships of all types and sizes coming and going. You cruise the length of the world's busiest man-made waterway, the Kiel Canal, this afternoon. This 98-kilometre-long short-cut connects the North Sea with the Baltic, saving ships from rounding the Danish peninsula and navigating potentially dangerous waters. Cruise through the night towards Hamburg.

Day 3 Hamburg


You'll arrive in the early hours and have the whole day to explore Hamburg. This exciting city blends its heritage as a free Hanseatic city with a host of modern attractions, a maritime flavour and legendary nightlife. Cruise overnight towards Lauenburg.

Day 4 Geesthacht to Wittenberge

The Elbe river in Geesthacht

After mooring in the historic old town of Geesthacht overnight, this morning you might like to join an optional trip to the romantic city of Luneburg, with its lovely medieval architecture and concentration of pubs. Spend the afternoon and evening cruising towards Wittenberge, where you arrive late tonight.

Day 5 Wittenberge to Havelberg


Spend the morning in Wittenberge before setting sail for Havelberg, where you arrive this afternoon. Part of the town lies on an island on the river, and you'll have time to explore in this afternoon and evening. Moor here overnight.

Day 6 Havelberg to Brandenburg


The ship departs early this morning and spends most of the day en route to Brandenburg, arriving late in the afternoon and mooring for the night. There’ll be plenty of time to explore this evening, you can stroll the medieval streets of the city on an included tour before dinner.

Day 7 Brandenburg to Potsdam to Berlin


Spend the morning in Potsdam and perhaps visit Cecilienhof Palace, where the Potsdam Conference decided the future of Germany in 1945, on an optional excursion. Continue cruising to Berlin, arriving mid-afternoon. You may like to take an optional coach tour of the city, revealing the Reichstag, Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg Gate and what remains of the Wall. Moor in Berlin overnight.

Day 8 Berlin to UK

Fly Home

Disembark after breakfast and travel to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
