The former Conservative MP represented Maidstone in the House of Commons from 1987 until 2010, served as Shadow Home Secretary and was Prisons Minister in John Major’s Government in the mid-90s. Look forward to stories from Ann’s time in politics and her television appearances on Strictly Come Dancing, Celebrity Big Brother and Fit Club.

Fly to Budapest and embark Amadeus Classic, enjoy dinner on board.

Day 2 Budapest


Budapest is a city made up of two parts: Buda and Pest, built on opposite banks of the Danube. An included city sightseeing tour will reveal the capital's highlights, including the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Buda Castle, Matthias Church and Fisherman's Bastion. Cruise overnight to Bratislava.

Day 3 Bratislava to Vienna

Vienna Opera House

Enjoy the morning in Slovakia's capital and perhaps join an optional city tour before Amadeus Classic cruises to Vienna, arriving in time for an evening stroll after dinner or perhaps taking in an evening concert on an optional excursion.

Day 4 Vienna to Dürnstein


This morning an included sightseeing tour reveals the highlights of the city, taking in sights such as the Ringstrasse and Opera House. After this you can relax on board as you cruise to Dürnstein.

Day 5 Dürnstein to Melk

Cruise the Wachau region

Enjoy the early morning in Dürnstein, a pretty village in the heart of the Wachau Valley which is steeped in history. Continue to Melk where you may join an optional tour of the Benedictine Abbey and Wachau region.

Day 6 Passau


Passau, the most easterly city in Bavaria, is home to an impressive baroque cathedral containing the largest church organ in the world. You can join a optional short walking tour of the highlights this afternoon, most of which are close to the Danube.

Day 7 Regensburg to Kelheim

Weltenburg Abbey

This attractive city has been a religious centre since the 7th century and has a large number of medieval churches which you can see on an optional tour, which also visits Weltenburg Abbey before you rejoin the ship later in Kelheim. This afternoon, cruise towards Nuremberg or Passau, depending on your departure date, via Kelheim and the Main-Danube Canal.

Day 8 Nuremberg or Passau to Prague


Disembark in Nuremberg or Passau after breakfast and travel by coach to Prague. Stay at the locally rated 5-star Corinthia Hotel Prague (4Q) for two nights, including dinner tonight and breakfasts.

Day 9 Prague

Old Town Prague

Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Perhaps discover the key attractions on an optional city tour. This afternoon, you may like to explore independently before taking up the opportunity to enjoy an optional dinner accompanied by tales of local folklore.

Day 10 Prague to UK


Check out after breakfast and travel to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
