Perched on a sand-spit jutting out into an inlet on one of northwest Iceland's deepest fjords, Isafjördur has a fine natural harbour which has made this one of the country's main fishing and trading centres for over 250 years. Take in the timber and metal-clad buildings, the Heritage Museum and Old Hospital, or perhaps visti Vigur – The Paradise Island – with its puffin colonies, arctic terns and more. Later, enjoy scenic cruising as your ship sails past the cliffs of Hornstrandir.
