Arrive 0800. Depart 1700.
Tenerife is crowned by the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mount Teide. Its capital Santa Cruz has a mix of old and new sights, from the central square of Plaza de Espana, which was built in 1929 to the auditorium, an expressionist structure that resembles a wave.

Look forward to an included panoramic excursion, taking in the mountain scenery and pausing in La Laguna for some free.
Optional excursions
Go hiking on Mount Teide with an experienced guide, or enjoy a catamaran trip to visit a pod of whales that live year round off the perennially sunny south coast. The botanical gardens are well worth a visit, and you could also seek out the cannon responsible for Admiral Nelson losing his arm, on display in the Museo Miliar.

Located at the ‘Gateway to the Caribbean’, Antigua has a rich history, having been discovered and named by Columbus in 1493. Admiral Nelson, was stationed here in the late 18th century, and his legacy is still evident today at English Harbour and Nelson’s Dockyard, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Charlestown ⚓, Nevis

The capital and chief port of Nevis, Charlestown is home to a number of interesting sites, including the ruins of Montpelier Estate where Horatio Nelson was married, and Hamilton House – the birthplace of US statesman Andrew Hamilton, who was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States.

Fort-de-France, Martinique
Arrive 0800. Depart 1800.
Birthplace of Josephine Bonaparte, Martinique exudes a distinct Gallic atmosphere, thanks to its elegant architecture and the patisseries and boutiques of the cosmopolitan capital, Fort-de-France. During 1887, the French post-Impressionist painter Gauguin spent five months on the island, and the museum in Le Carbet is dedicated to the famous artist.

Roseau, Dominica

Dominica is blessed with mountainous rainforests and deep river gorges swathed in jungle. Its most significant feature is Morne Trois Pitons National Park, where rocky volcanic landscapes surround a dramatic boiling lake. The island’s busy capital Roseau sits on the southwest coast along the Roseau River.
St George’s, Grenada
Arrive 0800. Depart 1700.
Dubbed the ‘Isle of Spice’ thanks to the abundance of nutmeg and cinnamon found here, Grenada is the southernmost island of the Antilles archipelago.

An included panoramic excursion will reveal the capital St George’s, enjoy sweeping panoramic views across the red-tiled roofs of city from the 18th-century Fort George.

Take a relaxing stroll through Laura’s Spice and Herb Garden which provides a treat for all of the senses.
Bridgetown, Barbados
Arrive 0800. Depart 2100.
Barbados offers a blend of West African and British culture, having remained a British colony until 1966. The island’s lively capital Bridgetown features 17th-century buildings and a historic Garrison, which is included on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

Perhaps take a tram ride into the heart of Harrison’s Cave, a crystallized limestone cave adorned with stalactites and deep pools of crystal-clear water or follow nature trails to discover the tropical sights of Barbados.
Castries, St Lucia

Situated on the eastern edge of the Caribbean, St Lucia is cloaked in lush rainforest and famed for its iconic twin volcanic peaks, the Pitons.

Perhaps head for Soufriere to experience the ‘drive-in’ volcano and Sulphur Springs Park or take a catamaran cruise to the bay at Anse Cochon.

Madeira is a verdant, mountainous island formed from a volcanic eruption and known for its namesake wine. Often described as the ‘floating garden in the Atlantic’, the island is home to the world’s largest laurel forest and Botanical Gardens where exotic indigenous plants grow. Look forward to New Year celebrations on board Spirit of Adventure.

Admire panoramic views across Funchal as you ascend to the suburb of Monte by cable car, before visiting the Botanical Gardens, step out onto the glass-bottomed skywalk at Cabo Girao, over Europe’s highest sea cliff, or join a team of marine biologists for a RIB ride in search of whales and dolphins.
