Perhaps visit Titanic Belfast, a modern museum dedicated to the ill-fated liner – it's located in the Titanic Quarter where hit television series Games of Thrones is filmed! Or, further afield you can discover the remarkable Giant’s Causeway, a unique rock formation of hexagonal pillars.

The Scilly Isles are made up of five inhabited – and some 140 uninhabited – islands situated off the Cornish Coast. St Mary’s is the largest inhabited island, noted for its white sandy beaches and coastal views. Hugh Town is the main town where facilities include shops, pubs and a museum. To the north of St Mary’s lies the island of Tresco, with its famous Abbey Gardens, home to some 20,000 exotic plants.

St Peter Port with its narrow, cobbled streets, pretty harbour and quays, is the capital of the Channel Island of Guernsey. Within the town lies the Guernsey Museum and Art Gallery where you can learn about the history of the island, and Hautevile House – the preserved home of poet and novelist Victor Hugo. Watching over the town is Castle Cornet, the ancient fortress that guards the harbour and is home to five museums and period gardens.
