25th December, 2019
At last, the seas are calming down - actually conditions did improve on the 24th,after round Finisterre and then improving quite quickly overnight. The ship had a comfortable motion about her, but I think the ride down to Santander still sat in some of my Guests minds.
So, a Christmas day at sea is drawing to an end, rather than arriving in Tenerife as scheduled.
To be honest, whilst it is a great shame we are not in Tenerife and sending our Guests to the ‘Concert’ ashore, I quite like a proper Christmas Day at sea, rounding off with a Formal Dinner rather than a casual Christmas Lunch… Christmas lunch onboard seems to ‘fade’ away during the day and the magic of Christmas is lost.. but that’s just me. I love great Christmas cheer!
The sea-day programme today was brimming with activity and my thanks to Jemms and her team; supported by so many ships-company working outside their comfort zone to bring Christmas Cheer onboard.
The Dinner was excellent, as usual I went for the typical Turkey dinner ,, just love ‘pigs-in-blankets’. The Christmas party is still going on up in the Drawing Room, but I need to some rest -its land ahoy in the morning.
Happy Christmas to one and all!
